About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (currently a year behind!), plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #765 - JJJ finishes today

Gosh I've had a ball doing Junk Journal January and today is the last day.

Pondering doing February in the notebook I made at my mate's Hen-do, we'll see...

I have the bits out to do my day 30 page on my desk last night but the videos don't drop till 6pm which is dinner time here and then dancing....

I really liked Day 25 - Ombré. I followed the watercolour example on the left and did inks on the right. Even got out my Dymo for the wording, had forgotten about that one.

And Day 28 - Grunge. Got my oil pastels out for the first time and used one of the windows from an old envelope as a pocket (didn't want to cover all the music paper I had as the page).

Also on my desk is my Faith Journal I've done the Faith Inspirations catch-up for November and December, so all ready February now.

I fell for my first Temu order! Mainly for a fascinator for my mate's wedding next Wednesday but I added a few journaling bits and bobs too.  Oh my, worth the week's wait on delivery...

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #764 - Hen-Do

Yay I made it to the Hen-Do. I just stayed for the afternoon tea and craft part.

We decorated notebooks as the craft part of the afternoon which was fun.

The little present was a small blue fabric heart with a pin on the back so it could be pinned inside the dress hem. It was in a little matchbox which I'd covered and decorated.

On my desk are my faith journal mid-page although I have done a couple other pages since last week too.

This is the Faith Inspirations Free mini course about art journaling. I just printed off the sheets and did my own thing.

This is this months scripture52 and associated page of clocks, thought I'd just do as monthly spreads this year.

I used more of the same INSIDE my friends wedding card, I thought the theme of new beginnings was quite apt. I made their card too of course but can't show that for a couple of weeks. The wedding is on Wednesday 7th Feb so not long now.

Also on my desk is my Junk Journal with my latest page drying, it was all about texture.

I did the page for Saturday's prompt of Nature using the wedding invitation envelope. There were sunflowers front and back so I opened it up, so cool.

I also did a page in my Bible for Jeremiah 18:6 about us being like clay in God's hands. Think I need to work on my hands, but the pot is OK.

That's me for this week. Feeling mostly better and even went to dancing last night. Back to Asda shopping for me today, hubby has been doing it most weeks lately....

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #763 - Secret

Here is my desk today, I was making a little gift for my friend's Hen-Do Saturday, so can't show it yet...

I did however use up similar bits and bobs for today's Junk page and there are some clues on the desk to the item I was making...

Here are my latest #junkjournaljanuary2024 pages

Days 9-10 Foliage, Layered, Eclectic, Torn Edges.

Days 11-16 Garden, Pattern, Opposites, Flow.

Thought you might appreciate my thoughts on the prompt FLOW....put them in the pocket so it's up to the viewer to see or not..

Made me giggle, glad those days are over! Pension next for me!

Developed a sore throat and cough last Friday, just after getting over the previous head cold! Praying I'll be OK for the Hen-Do on Saturday, just the daytime craft part for me though.

Anyway here's the little parcel.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #762 - Junk Journal January

I've had a bit of a re-arrange of my desk but I doubt it looks any different. I really want more room when I am mid-crafting but at a loss to how to manage this in my space. I would love a shelf trolley but nowhere to put one. Oh well...

I guess the Junk Journal has taken over a bit this week...although you wouldn't know by the tidiness of my desk (what's new?)

It's definitely getting thicker and I have only done 8 days of 31, Oh my.

Each page's outlook changes as I do the next, where the pages are different sizes. So here are collages of the first 8 pages.

Also a collage of the waterfall feature pages from day 3.

I've not neglected my Bible so here's a collage of the 5 entries in there.

The Girl, Owl and Cactus pages from the Free 10 day Bible Journaling Course.

The other 2 in Jeremiah as I feel inclined.

I had a sore throat last week which seemed to go away, now I have a cold. I had a nasty IBS attack from trying new different food last Wednesday evening which lasted 36 hours. My back is getting there slowly though, my Osteopath gave me lots of strengthening exercises to do over the next 2 months before I see him again but the long and short of it is Osteoarthritis is taking over. Heading for 60yrs in a few weeks, is it all down hill from here I wonder?

Happy WOYWW To You All.

WOYWW #761 - Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone.

Just have to say it; Crafting, Journaling and this weekly Blog keep me sane. Where would I be without you all to share in the wonderful world of crafting.

Desk has a few journals on it. A4,  A5 and sort of A6 Junk Journal.

I'm doing Junk Journal January. It's a free daily challenge, on You Tube.

I did my first Gelli Plate page and tag. I used the January "free in the month it's in" mini-kit from Bible Journaling Ministries. I followed along to their Facebook group live video and then went my own way some.

And a few water colours in my Bibles too.

Most people have heard 1 Corinthians 1:1-13, usually at weddings, as it's about love.

Also just started reading Jeremiah so needed something to mark the day. God has plans for each and every one of us. Jeremiah 1:5

Verse 13 of the 2nd Chapter of Jeremiah jumped out at me yesterday. Just had to paint me a water fountain...💧

Jeremiah Chapter 3 is about asking God to renew our hearts to be faithful in loving Him above all, so a simple heart painting did the trick.

I'm sure there is more but I think that is quite enough for one post don't you - LOL

Happy WOYWW New Year everyone.

I finished my Scripture52 cards as well.

Thanks for being here every week guys. It's great to be able to share crafty stuff with you all and get inspiration too.

WOYWW #759 - Staying Gnome for Christmas

Well the scrapbooking is desperately trying to resurface after all the tag making - it's on the desk but that's as far as it has got.

Excited for son coming home this year.

Turned down all parties as IBS resurfaced Saturday, I really find this time so stressful, looking forward to son's birthday and the New Year.

I showed my friend my Bibles with all the gnomes today and she said I HAD to open my present early, excellent...a gnome decoration! YAY!

Here are last week's gnomes, they seem to be a hit with lots of folks...

Mr "Nothing is Impossible" Gnome

Mr "Bells of Peace" Gnome

Mr "Given a Gift" Gnome

Mr "Everlasting Life" Gnome

Mr "The Beauty of Jesus" Gnome

Mr "King of Kings" Gnome

Mr "Taste and See" Gnome

And my gift...Love him

I did make a tag from the bits and pieces I had left over on my desk

And last but not least, my week 51 card from the #scripture52 series.

Happy WOYWW Christmas Everyone.

WOYWW #758 - What a Week! Advent in Full Swing.

A million apologies for not managing to visit last week. My osteopath appointment knocked me for 6 and it was quite a struggle to do my advent challenges and cards let alone anything else! Next appointment is tomorrow and I hope it isn't as painful as the last one.

Here's my desk yesterday set up for painting Mr Advent Gnome for the Holy Days...

The past week's Gnomes have included:-

Mr "Bethlehem" Gnome - as prophesied in the Old Testament (OT)

Mr "Good Shepherd" Gnome - OT

Mr "Out of Darkness" Gnome - OT

Mr "Zechariah" Gnome (John the Baptist's father New Testament (NT), who was struck mute until the birth of his son)

Mr "John the Baptist" Gnome - OT

Mr "God With Us" Gnome - OT

Mr "Gift of God" Gnome - or Hamish McTavish as I think he has a Scottish vibe. Had to break out my mini Bible for this one so good job it was in the the NT.

The painting doesn't take too long, printables to trace are provided free and there is a super video and devotional to paint along to at Devotion in Action.

The 12 Tags of Christmas, on the other hand, are a labour of love and take AGES!

There is a bonus one today, so 13 in all and I have been putting them on my stair garlands. I think an extra post is required for all of those. However I have managed to put them on facebook daily so I think some of you may have seen them.

Any way there are extras too so here's a couple of those.

A decoration and a little gift box.

Then thought it about time I jumped on the Christmas Card wagon!! So had an epic few days doing those too, phew! I was inspired by a post from Felix the Crafty Cat, thanks Angela your post really helped me.

On Thursday I received my parcel from Tracy @ Whimsical Designs, I shed happy tears as I opened it. I can't share the contents as I think my friend might see before Christmas, so another post pending.... Here's the box they came in though.

I had the funeral of my next door neighbour on Monday and her daughter brought some of the orchids round yesterday.

I managed to do my Scripture52 card this week as well. Oh my!

Been quite a week.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.
