About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #604 - Scrapping/Jigsaws/50th Card

Tidy desk all ready for blog writing... Have found my tablet/phone stand works well as a 12x12 page stand.

Not quite sure when I fitted it in but I managed to do another 3 scrapbook pages plus revisit an old double layout which was decidedly missing something.

First up - my son finishing his 2nd year in Uni and his last trip abroad with his Uni mates in June 2019.

Second up (as seen on desk) - us getting the garage roof renewed - off with the old asbestos and on with Welsh slate - nice. We took the old wrapped roof pieces to the dump ourselves and the top pieces looked rather like a body - LOL.

My pink January page just needed something so added the diecut fairy and fairy wings plus some stickles - fairy dust trails.

Then I got a couple of jigsaws for Christmas so have been busy doing the double set of those!! Two 500 piece puzzles which join together as one long picture. Jolly glad they were bagged separately in the box!
And the day before yesterday I remembered a cousin's "get everyone to send his wife a 50th birthday card" surprise thing, so made that.

So nothing on my desk in the making and with the gradient jigsaw from my son pending, I rather doubt there will be anything next week either - we'll see.

Here's hoping we have a better 2021.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #603 - Photos Came - all 152 of them!

Yay my photos arrived, all 152 of them so I've been doing some more scrapping. Some of which is inspired and some not quite so. I mean sometimes it just works out well and sometimes it's a damp squid.

I'm Mrs tidy so all tends to get put away at the end of the day, mostly as stuff is usually spread out on my bed and I need to sleep!

So there's my desk with the next couple of pages on pieces of card and covered with see-through plastic 12x12 bags, for ease of movement and safety of elements respectively. Oftentimes it is good to leave the unstuck pages overnight as you can have eureka moments in the morning.

Here are the the new pages I did in the week. Not included the ones I stuck after showing you them last week. The 12x12's cover May-June 2019.

Firstly the double 12x12 awaiting a couple of missing photos from the last order. It covers 3 geocaching adventures. Two to a local park, Gatton Park, where the caches were all puzzles, most enjoyable and a circle of standing stones thrown in, all with inscriptions. The other yet another park near by Marden Park Valley.

Then the beginning of the baby ministry at church, Twinkles, did I mention I love babies??? And we got pink t-shirts, yay. I had to give up helping shortly after this as my shoulder got really bad. All the babies have grown up now, oh my word.

Then a visit to Maccy D's after our church meeting, that's what you get with a young pastor, such a laugh.

As I have printed all my photos up to Dec 2019 I was in a position to do my yearly 8x8 page of the 3 of us. It used to show how my son was growing but now it seems to be, what length is his hair!

Oh and a little present I got for myself and me and hubby constructed yesterday evening. Not built any furniture in ages! Fits snugly next to sink and now we have somewhere to put our phone/tablet when visiting the loo!

So that's me for this week.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

And Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

WOYWW #602 - Back to Scrapping

Have just ordered my next batch of photos. May 2019 to Dec 2019 so 152 prints on their way. I tried to be picky this time but it is what it is.

Don't know if that was what was stopping me scrapping but I needed a couple of prints I'd missed for May 2019 so scrapping had come to a halt.

I've become so stuck in scrapping chronologically that I hadn't looked at the rest of the May 2019 photos I already had and for some reason I did just that yesterday and found I could skip the pages pending additional photos and so a couple more in the meantime.

So here we have a couple of layouts in the making. WOYWW must have been in my subconscious as it wasn't until I was stopping to make dinner that I realised it was Tuesday night and that I would have something to show you all today! YAY

First up - Hubby's new bed, which we ordered from Dreams. I wanted a photo of the bottom so he could see how it was fixed together and the delivery guys decided to pose for me! Such a happy delivery crew. It had started on the spotty paper but the wording was lost on that one. Might add some of it in the corners. Still pondering it.

Second up - me and a mate when we went to the Big Church Day Out last year. Seem to have got away with one of those big print papers I was gifted when my son was in primary school. (Now that was quite a few years ago, half his lifetime infact as he's 22yrs on Monday Eeek). Pondering some embellishments but not sure what yet, maybe some perfect pearls/stickle highlights on the print flowers.

All suggestions welcome.

I seem to be back in the saddle and looking forward to scrapping more, hope it lasts.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #601 - Thanks for the Zoom Meet-Up Ladies

It was so good to meet up with lots of you lovely ladies last Saturday on Zoom.

I was even inspired to make some Christmas cards. I was going to make just the one, based on one I'd seen on Julia's #598 blog post

Then I remembered a tree die I'd bought a few years ago and a few developed from there.

Following that I was checking out my card blanks box I foundsome "designer" cards so used my left over diecuts and some more on those.

Voila, 12 Christmas cards! Woo Hoo the most cards I've made in a long long time.

I did make my son's 22nd Birthday card before putting everything away. I'd mentioned it to him and despite blue being his favourite colour, he said not blue again! I said I wish I could used Pink and Purple and he said Why Not! So I did just that.

Thanks again, it was a super meet-up.

Happy WOYWW Everyone
