WOYWW #428 - Journal & Cards

My desk this week.

Just remembered I got a new white pen last week and it is proving to work well. It is a Uni-ball Signo broad, pigment ink. Not had much luck with white pens in the past - we'll see.

So I did the journal page inspired by the diecuts from last week, in fact I did two!

I also made a card from the diecuts for a SWAP on the theme of Gingham.

I  also added the new "Happy Birthday" diecuts to two previously made cards for birthdays this month.

So I actually got a bit crafty and inky this past week in the end - horrah.

WOYWW #427 - Craftiness

Nothing like a Craft Shop Birthday Demo Day to get the ball rolling.

Met up with a couple of new crafty friends last Saturday and headed out to CraftsULove in Charlwood.

Bought some dies and got a goodie bag.

Then watched the demos and bought some more dies!!! Even got a die in the goodie bag.

Die Heaven!

So my desk is covered with the first cuts of said dies! I can feel a journal page coming on.....

I got a couple of 12x12 sheets in the goodie bag and would you believe one of mine had a fairy playing the harp on it - all my friends had a different sheet - so how cool was that, someone is watching over me.

Loved this demo card for Christmas so bought the tree die.

Then added its first cut onto my current scrapbook page (yes still on last Christmas).

The best thing of all was when we were in the very big queue for the checkout and my friend was getting dies despite not having a diecutting machine. We were chatting about this and the lady behind had one to spare and just happened to live near me so I went and got it later for £20 - bargin. What an amazing coincidence.

And for the record
I also placed and had published a new geocache in a local church and added pirate goodies for the Summer theme.

Add on top of that I wasn't well last Thursday evening and all day Friday, as well as the previous Monday. My hormones are really mixing it up these days, no idea what each day will bring but still hanging in there.

WOYWW #426 - Blue

Had the sewing machine out yesterday to fix a muslin which had become a bit holey.
Thought you'd prefer that shot than the empty one of today!

The delivery came as scheduled last week and it was in a HUGE box compared to the size of the item. My son and I just had to have a play!

Skylight all done now, it took a whole day for the boys to fix it.
Now that's better!

Last week I performed surgery on my third Corsa Doll, "Blue" to replace his batteries so now he says, "C'Mon" again. You can see he is a bit bigger than "Red" and "White" and doesn't have a hanger loop.

Still not got back into my scrapping, oh well one day.........

WOYWW #425 - Delivery Man

Yep delivery man woke me with a phone call at 7.30am to say he'd be here between 10am-11am! What a way to start the day!

Anyway Julia's Facebook post for WOYWW prompted me to get my post done today, so still in my nightie here is my desk.

I have actually done some scrapping, Shock Horror!

All this talk about doing cards for this year's Christmas and I am still on last year's Christmas photos for scraping!

Having fixed last week's Corsa Doll "Red", I thought I'd make the hanger for his friend "White" the same so will be doing that this week.

Both were very faded so I have touched up their mouths and eyes with Sharpie pens. Took a while to dry but seems to have done the trick.

I also have a bigger version of "Blue" who sits on the dashboard.

Here is a picture of them all, Cheri, White, Blue Moo, and Red. I guess I only liked the male versions!!

Popped in to The Works last week and bought my son a book on "Equations" so had to get myself something so got these paper pads.

I received this lovely array of colourful items for a SWAP on the theme of "Colour Fest" from fellow WOYWWer Sue.

And the delivery man, what is he delivering you may be thinking?

Well the scorching sun from past months has done untold damage to our kitchen "caravan" skylight so Hubby ordered a new one. Hope the rain will go away so he can fit it soon.....

Better get dressed before the delivery man comes don't you think!

WOYWW #424 - Did You Miss Me?

Had an impromptu visit to Mum's in Wales last week which was the reason for my absence.

I had thought I'd have time to craft in the Summer but with the HOT weather and outings it just doesn't seem to have happened YET!

Whilst on Rhossili Headland I duly waved to Jan!

I also dug out some old photos whilst there including this part contact strip.

I have done a photo order from Photobox, just in time for the 30% off promotion. (202 prints)

I still have my Christmas visit to Mum's to scrap from last year, but all set up for the moment crafting grabs me......

Other things:-

Need to mend one of my Corsa C'Mon Dolls from the car as his hanger broke off.

Also I have been getting ready for the Geocaching Pirate Summer Challenge. Yes I am truly bonkers!

WOYWW #422 - Empty Desk

Hmmmm empty desk again except for list of things to do.

I finished the shirt collar removal last week and it was received with thanks, some money and more importantly some chocolate!

I also recovered my badminton racquet grip, never realised the handle would have been wooden!

This is my spare, I did my main one too.

Only real crafting was a birthday card for hubby.

Glasses Update - I got my refund of £60 for the difference between the Varifocals I hated and the Bifocals which are much better.

I have since bought a pair of single vision driving sunglasses on-line for £30.40. Wasn't going to bother but it has been quite sunny of late!

So that's me, really need to do some scrapping and ordering of my next set of prints as I am 6 months behind now!!

Got a craft friend round today too, best set up the Cuttlebug!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #421 - Sewing

Yes a change today as I have my trusty sewing machine out.

When my husband's shirt collars are worn, I remove the top half to make Grandad Collars.

Anyway one of my husband's colleagues liked the way this looks, and as they don't need to wear ties all the time, he has requested I do the same with one of his shirts. It's not worn but the points curl and it's his favourite shirt.

The other item which needs attention is the grip on my spare badminton racquet. Over time they deteriorate and you get "black hand" syndrome as the grip comes off on your hand. This has happened to a few people at the group I am facilitating then I realised my spare racquet was in the same state too.

I did a couple of LOs this week too.
My Son's 18th birthday and Christmas.

Please can someone tell my body it has got 10-15 degrees cooler as I am still HOT HOT HOT.

WOYWW #420 - Too Hot to Craft

Yep too hot here in the UK to craft!

Unless you count painting my toe nails! Nail polish is on desk at least!

I even cheated a bit with the two cards I needed to make as one was a previously made twinchie used as a topper and the other was made before but I just added the lettering.

I did get my Bifocal Glasses and that all seems to be going OK.

I am doing a daily diary on my Facebook page like I did with the Varifocals. It's much more positive.

I'm the new advocate for grey hair and bifocals.

I took this photo last Sunday in the Garden of Remembrance where I go to remember my Dad's passing (19 years ago) which just happened to fall on Father's Day this year. Glad I'd had the dedication as well this year, time holding a baby soothes the saddest heart.

My Dad - Father's Day

This year Father's Day will be particularly difficult for me as it coincides with the day my Dad died, back in 1998.

On top of that my friend is having her son dedicated too.

The pain eases but it never goes away.
The memories are sweet though, so a couple of photos:-

Back in the day - holding my pushchair I do believe.

On the farm with his trusty tractor behind him.

Love you DAD.
