About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (currently a year behind!), plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #441 - MRI & March Scrapping

The scrapping continues although not that much as I've had a nasty cold this past week.
Sorry for not replying to most of you last week, only just coming out of the haze, will try better this week.

I've started March and was determined to use the "March" paper I was gifted a few weeks ago.

Did a bit of jiggery pokery with the photos, date wise, to get some meaning to the pages. First one is of a couple of geocaching days. Second one is various facets of the garden throughout March. More geocaching adventures are lined up to do next.

Had a crafty visitor in the week and she gave me the die cuts.

Also I had my MRI on Monday (postponed from Friday as I was just too poorly then). I should have the results by next week, here are a couple of the images from the CD they gave me. Scary eh!

WOYWW #408 - Not just Embroidery

Desk is adorned with new kitchen roll, well you always need one of those for crafting!

Also a leaflet about badminton sessions called "No Strings" which are pay and play sessions with no club ties.

I have been volunteering for a local mental health charity with badminton sessions in conjunction with Badminton England.

Embroidery has been developing slowly this week.

I make sure I manage at least one length of thread a day at least.

I managed a scrapbook layout as well.

AND I also did the garden! Here's what I put in it. It looks and smells like Cadbury Mini Eggs now.

My medication seems to be working so far, I am so much happier and able to do stuff without being knocked back by Aunty Flow, 40 days and counting since the last onslaught.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #406 - More Embroidery

I think the embroidery has taken centre stage this week.

It certainly has evolved and I have a vague plan now - the colour wheel!

My daily progress can be seen on my previous post.

I stamped the dragonflies before filling them in with stitches. Who knew stamping would transfer to embroidery?

The spirals are being done with purple metallic thread so are taking an age...

Also I have moved the lounge round so we sit on the opposite sides of the sofas and having moved my harp have actually played it this week. Must have been months since I did last.

Planted a few plants in the garden too.

Spring is definitely in the air round here.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #371 - Goodies & Scrapping

Nearly forgot myself today, whatever was I thinking?

Here's my desk with some new goodies as I thought I'd treat myself to some dies instead of just buying magazines with freebie dies!!

Could have done with the Picket Fence Distress ink for my rainbow ice page below, had to use my stain for the white.

I have my next set of photos ready for inspiration and have done the following double LOs since too.

Geocaching on Leith Hill back in March this year.

Loved all the carved animals on the signpost.

Then on Easter Monday to Leigh for some more geocaching where we got jolly wet in a field as it bucketed down on us. The River Mole was running very high due to all the rain but the sun came out as we traveled back through Brockham.

Finally, here is my sunflower in full flower, thought you'd like to see it too. It's way taller than me now!

Happy WOYWW everyone.

WOYWW #367 - Updates & Harp

Not so much to show on my desk today so thought I'd pop my little harp on there as I have been having a bit of a harp week (see below).

Other than that there is a blank card awaiting inspiration for my husband's 60th birthday.

These are the crowns we made at preschool last week.

I wore my example one for the whole session, and I helped all 23 children make their own one too.

The sunflower has grown a lot, even more since I took this photo! Must pot on the little ones.

Scrapping of the last of my birthday photos.
I used up a 12x12 paper which had a circle cut from it so filled the space with a piece of plain card which itself wasn't quite big enough and I had to gut that for the embellishments!

I also made some harp threading cards for preschool as I am taking my little harp in to show them for music week tomorrow.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

WOYWW #363 - Not Another Magazine Freebie!

Here's my desk in all its glory this week for WOYWW. I didn't move a thing, just held my breath and took the photo!
So yes another magazine, I think I go by the mantra, "If it's got a freebie die I'm a gonna!"

I had a bit of trouble with the first cut of this intricate die. Don't think it liked the pink pearl textured card as I had to dig it out in bits! Tried again with some plain white thick card and managed that OK, although I did douse the die in talc beforehand!

Also on my desk is my next scrappage pending. Some various photos of me and my harp, some flowers for Valentines and my first pot of daffs of the Spring.

I did do my Christmas scrappage during the week too and a SWAP card for the Paris in Springtime theme.

Oh and the sunflower has grown so much I had to repot it,  plus I planted a few more seeds as only one of the seedlings from the last CD case planting survived. Grass head is going manic and there'll be cress for sandwiches soon.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

WOYWW #362 - Birthday Wheels

Determined NOT to set foot on the WOYWW page until I STUCK my Wheels scrapbook page, which has been pending on my desk for a number of weeks, I have at last finished it - Horrah!

Also on my desk today are a couple of preschool items.

First the dressing up dress I have mended ( I replaced the tangled, tatty pink fur trim for the pastel daisy chain)

Second, the story of Simon Shape.

Also the latest on my kitchen window sill garden.

The first sunflower has grown loads in the week despite a visit to preschool for their Open Day last Saturday.

At the Open Day I did cress heads with the children and this is my new addition.

My grass head has finally go going and might need a trim soon.

Also, there are two more sunflowers emerging in the CD case which need planting on.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

PS I did a rainbow ice block for preschool last week too. It went down well so I am in the process of creating another one.

WOYWW #361 - Bluebell Bunny

The sad sorry fact is no crafting yet again this week. So not the height of activity for this week's WOYWW.

My scrapbook layout lies there still unstuck.

There is a bunny for a 3rd birthday present. Couldn't resist it at the garden centre yesterday. What with all the bluebells about at present.

I made the card a while back in WOYWW #356.
Just need to wrap it and post them by Friday....

I got these plants for the preschool garden.

And as for the Sunflower, it goes from strength to strength, I blogged part 3 yesterday.

Sunflower CD - Part 3

Two weeks and my sunflower was getting too big for the CD case so I set it free.

It is doing oh so well in its new plastic cup!
It was the height of the stick when it went in and is growing every day.

I also planted 2 more seeds in the CD case.
One pointing up and one pointing down just to see how that differs.
They also germinated in two days.

Then I spotted the first sproutings of the grass in my grass head.
That has taken 2 weeks to germinate.

Onwards and upwards (literally!)
Part 1  and Part 2
