About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (currently a year behind!), plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #441 - MRI & March Scrapping

The scrapping continues although not that much as I've had a nasty cold this past week.
Sorry for not replying to most of you last week, only just coming out of the haze, will try better this week.

I've started March and was determined to use the "March" paper I was gifted a few weeks ago.

Did a bit of jiggery pokery with the photos, date wise, to get some meaning to the pages. First one is of a couple of geocaching days. Second one is various facets of the garden throughout March. More geocaching adventures are lined up to do next.

Had a crafty visitor in the week and she gave me the die cuts.

Also I had my MRI on Monday (postponed from Friday as I was just too poorly then). I should have the results by next week, here are a couple of the images from the CD they gave me. Scary eh!

WOYWW #429 - Blessings

Well the nearest I have got to crafting this past week is opening the pack of diecuts my friend gave me.

She is loving her "new" Cuttlebug which she acquired secondhand after chatting in a craft shop queue.

I had a great week last week with blessings falling from heaven left right and centre.

1) My son got A*AA for his A-levels and secured his place in Southampton University - NEXT MONTH! -

Oh dear empty nester syndrome approaching fast...........

2) In Geocahing got a First To Find (FTF) with my son - treasuring these last days with him at home.

3) Took my son driving on the Motorway for the first time.

4) Impromptu meeting-up with 2 old school friends last Saturday not seen them for 14yrs/40yrs!

5) Played 2 good evenings of Badminton, loads of exercise.

6) Volunteered at a Tea Dance, found a new dance school and went to a social last Friday and it was brill, so even more exercise.

7) Actually seem to be losing a bit of weight and have been sleeping marginally better too.

Not doing so well this week, in fact I think this week has been cancelled! It'll pass and if I feel any better I can of course do some crafting.

Did get this lovely SWAP card on our theme of Gingham though, that will help me smile this week.

WOYWW #427 - Craftiness

Nothing like a Craft Shop Birthday Demo Day to get the ball rolling.

Met up with a couple of new crafty friends last Saturday and headed out to CraftsULove in Charlwood.

Bought some dies and got a goodie bag.

Then watched the demos and bought some more dies!!! Even got a die in the goodie bag.

Die Heaven!

So my desk is covered with the first cuts of said dies! I can feel a journal page coming on.....

I got a couple of 12x12 sheets in the goodie bag and would you believe one of mine had a fairy playing the harp on it - all my friends had a different sheet - so how cool was that, someone is watching over me.

Loved this demo card for Christmas so bought the tree die.

Then added its first cut onto my current scrapbook page (yes still on last Christmas).

The best thing of all was when we were in the very big queue for the checkout and my friend was getting dies despite not having a diecutting machine. We were chatting about this and the lady behind had one to spare and just happened to live near me so I went and got it later for £20 - bargin. What an amazing coincidence.

And for the record
I also placed and had published a new geocache in a local church and added pirate goodies for the Summer theme.

Add on top of that I wasn't well last Thursday evening and all day Friday, as well as the previous Monday. My hormones are really mixing it up these days, no idea what each day will bring but still hanging in there.

WOYWW #424 - Did You Miss Me?

Had an impromptu visit to Mum's in Wales last week which was the reason for my absence.

I had thought I'd have time to craft in the Summer but with the HOT weather and outings it just doesn't seem to have happened YET!

Whilst on Rhossili Headland I duly waved to Jan!

I also dug out some old photos whilst there including this part contact strip.

I have done a photo order from Photobox, just in time for the 30% off promotion. (202 prints)

I still have my Christmas visit to Mum's to scrap from last year, but all set up for the moment crafting grabs me......

Other things:-

Need to mend one of my Corsa C'Mon Dolls from the car as his hanger broke off.

Also I have been getting ready for the Geocaching Pirate Summer Challenge. Yes I am truly bonkers!

WOYWW #387 - Tidy

After last week's upheaval with the ceiling work, that side of my room got a jolly good clean and tidy. I did hurt my back/shoulder in the process so ended up having to rest quite a bit of last weekend and I also had an IBS episode but that calmed down after 24hours of being uncomfortable!

I tossed out most of my old craft mags and rearranged my stuff on my bookshelves.

I came across the kit for the little owl I made up a while back which has been on my desk since and laid out the pieces to make up its sibling but that was as far as it went. As it is black, white and grey I was pondering adding an accent colour like we did for our SWAP on UKPC last month. Lime Green is my colour of choice at the moment.

OK so not much going on here.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Finally for the Geocachers out there, my latest travel bug, the dolphin TB5H393 has actually moved!

I did ask on a FB page and one lad said he'd go and get it but the very same day someone else got it and moved it on - yippee.

I have also registered one for myself today, the second Celtic Heart, TB68AYA to log where I go as it is the replacement for the first one which got lost a few years ago. Didn't realise you could do that until I joined the Geocaching UK Facebook Group. Learning so much more now.

WOYWW #379 - Back to Work!

Yep - just stuff on my desk and very little crafting!

My Bits & Bobs Tin is still there, I did make one another card from it, but that is for a swap so is lurking behind it????

The closest I have got to crafting was using my corner punch and crop-o-dile to make a little laminated card for my Geocaching trackable. This will be the 3rd I have released, the last two have stalled somewhat, well the first has disappeared for over a year now and the second, who knows?

Then there's my WOW box I made for Preschool last term. I found my son's Spot toy packed away in a cupboard this Summer (well he is 17yrs now!) so now I can use it when I read the book to the children. There are a few more books I have prepared to use and my notebook and pencil case all ready too.

Yes I have been ironing again, hence the jug of water. Managed half Monday, perhaps the other half today.

And lastly my little pouch of mini Ink Joy pens. I love these pens and was really looking for a mini pen for my Geocaching (to attach to my phone case) but these just HAD to pop into my basket.

I guess that is me.

WOYWW #375 - Serengeti Evening

Hi Folks, just to say, after nearly 6 weeks of period with only 6 days relief due to medication, the latter seems to have reset my body and things are back to normal at present - phew!

Good news for me but not such good news for crafting as I have been out Geocaching and Pokémon Going.  I got a FTF cache (First To Find) yesterday and managed to fill up my virtual Pokémon bag too!

Looking at my desk, not so good for the ironing either (much larger pile in cupboard awaits my attention, this lot didn't even make it to the cupboard!) nor the recycling reclamation (although there is a potential fairy jar in there).

I did however have a Serengeti Evening Sunday. Dare I mention I fell for yet another magazine and freebie die. I'd already set the SWAP theme of Serengeti but seeing the balloon die made me think this would work.

I've not even published the partners for the SWAP yet so hope my partner doesn't see this.

I made a journal page with all the left over bits and bobs from the card. Can you believe I'd forgotten the delights of stencils and only added that detail after the stickles! Yes I got into a bit of a mess, but hey ho I had a good inky evening.

Well I think I managed a visit and comment to all last week, but unfortunately there were a couple of Google+ participants I was unable to reply to, couldn't even find emails, such a shame.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Scavenger Hunt : Part 9 : Duplicates

I bagged all the items for the Scavenger Hunt earlier this month but have still been keeping my eye out for better shots.

#13 The Moon still captivates me and one morning when I woke before dawn I watched it track across the sky as the birds began to sing and the sky lightened.

Another frequent finding were #01 Wild Hearts. A Potato, A Petal, some Tendrils from the Wisteria and bubbles in the kitchen sink.

At last a quiet moment in a church and a beautiful #12 Window.

The chance sighting of a foal by the River Mole for the second alternative.  A Baby.

My latest #08 Art Project, A Fairy Jar.

My #21 July Calendar shot.

And to top it all the latest craze to be sweeping the nation, I have been doing Pokémon Go for the past 11 days.

I wrote a blog post about Geocaching vs Pokémon Go so here is my #16 Map of a Trip and me #09 Playing by Water (you'll have to take my word for it as I haven't got into this selfie thing much yet).

So yes, despite having bagged all the items, the Scavenger Hunt goes on.

Thanks Rinda.
