About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #604 - Scrapping/Jigsaws/50th Card

Tidy desk all ready for blog writing... Have found my tablet/phone stand works well as a 12x12 page stand.

Not quite sure when I fitted it in but I managed to do another 3 scrapbook pages plus revisit an old double layout which was decidedly missing something.

First up - my son finishing his 2nd year in Uni and his last trip abroad with his Uni mates in June 2019.

Second up (as seen on desk) - us getting the garage roof renewed - off with the old asbestos and on with Welsh slate - nice. We took the old wrapped roof pieces to the dump ourselves and the top pieces looked rather like a body - LOL.

My pink January page just needed something so added the diecut fairy and fairy wings plus some stickles - fairy dust trails.

Then I got a couple of jigsaws for Christmas so have been busy doing the double set of those!! Two 500 piece puzzles which join together as one long picture. Jolly glad they were bagged separately in the box!
And the day before yesterday I remembered a cousin's "get everyone to send his wife a 50th birthday card" surprise thing, so made that.

So nothing on my desk in the making and with the gradient jigsaw from my son pending, I rather doubt there will be anything next week either - we'll see.

Here's hoping we have a better 2021.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Love the scrapbook layouts BJ. That double jigsaw looks stunning. We have a 2000 piece one which is always bagged up into four sections to make life easier. The gradient jigsaw looks a major challenge. Stay safe, happy WOYWW and Happy New Year. Sarah #9

Yep, you may very well be sick of the word ‘gradient’ in the not too distant future! Lovely scrapbook pages, I must say the garage roof is lovely, and I’m happily amazed that you were allowed to dispose of the asbestos yourselves. It’s a horrible performance to do that here. That double puzzle is amazing, haven’t tackled on like that before!

Wow, a double jig saw. Be that was fun!
Lovely to see completed LO's especially a reamped old one.
Here's to a better year ahead than the one we have just had. Keep crafting, blogging and stay safe, happy and well.
Hugs, Neet 13 xx

I did chuckle at your wrapped roof!! I'm a little surprised you were able to get rid of it like that but well done! I've never heard of a double jigsaw, but it looks fab, what a great picture. Happy New Year and stay safe xx Helen #5

Hi BJ, the double jigsaw looks well worth the effort to put in to complete it. I have two jigsaws, had them for years and not completed either yet. One hasn't even been opened. Maybe now we are in Tier 4 from midnight, I will have a go! I think the gradient one would drive me batty! I'm surprised you were allowed to remove the asbestos roof yourself- for some reason I thought you had to get a specialist in to do that and dispose of it. I did laugh at the pic though, as it does look like a body! Have a lovely week, and Happy New Year, Heather xx #30

BJ, first off, that puzzle must be HUGE when joined together! LOL I love puzzles and I bet this one was fun! And it's a great scene! Love your fairy page and what a great card! I remember 50! I thought I would be put out, but alas, it was another day! LOL Now I wonder what 60 will feel like! LOL Happy New Year to you! Blessings, Felicia, #31

Hi BJ - ah, now I understand about the asbestos! Sorry, I thought you meant you had removed it yourself, hence I was a bit concerned. Yes, our council also charges builders when they take stuff to the recycling centre - but householders can take it free - it's the same stuff, so doesn't really make much sense, but they have to make money I guess.

Well you have been busy over the Christmas period, BJ. Great layouts, and I love the 50th card too. A double jigsaw? A single one would defeat me lol! I am hopeless at jigsaws and really admire all of you WOYWWers who manage to do such amazing and complex ones!

Happy New Year and happy WOYWW,

Fabulous layouts ! We have just completed a puzzle having abandoned one because it was too big for our puzzle storage bag - we'll probably take it on holiday with us some time! The Gradient one looks real difficult - Good Luck! Chris#38

Thanks for your visit, BJ, and I'm glad you liked my dress! Regarding my earlier comment about being hopeless at jigsaws, we've been given a really fun one for Christmas so I'm going to have to apply myself, aren't I. More news on this anon!

wow you have been busy! Not sure I like the look of that gradient puzzle - might be a bit of a challenge!! I had to laugh about the body shaped bags - last time we had a skip there was something we wrapped up - I can't recall what it was now, and I remembered saying to my hubby - looks like we're getting rid of a body.......Sorry I'm so late - you know, life and stuff!
