About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

Flower Study

I bought some new dies this week.

I got them from CountryView Crafts on-line. They arrived really quickly.

The flowers were in their "Flash Sale" for a fiver - bargain!

Here they all are cut out.

After a bit of inking and moulding (and lengthening) By lengthening I mean I snipped the foliage pieces in half so both ends showed behind the flowers.

I used them all to make up this card.

Then I thought I'd see what single flower dies I have altogether.

I have Timmy's Tattered Florals,
some old Quickutz ones,
a poinsettia,
some from a spellbinders set and
my new Sizzix thinlets.
I think I have a good range there.

Anyway, totally inspired by the ATC I received in the WOYWW 7th anniversary from Diana Taylor

I thought I'd have a go, in Timmy Tag style, using what I have to recreate the ATC.

Here we are then.

Diana's on the left and mine on the right. Now was that what drew me in to getting the foliage die? Who knows!

Thanks for the inspiration Diana.

You'll neverergerr ..... eid rewolf a terger- oh cra* FB typing backwards again. I really wish I knew what I did to make that happen.
What I was trying to say was you'll never regret a flower die (except maybe those spellbinders sunflower (used) Aster (used once) Iris and Daisy (never used) where every petal is a different piece. (Whatever posessed me?)

Thank you so much for the link to this post, I love what you've done with the flowers, and thank's for the mention too! The card is beautiful and I love the idea of lengthening the foliage, very effective (and clever!). You certainly have a lot of flower dies - it's quite amazing how craft stash builds up without us really noticing isn't it! I love the ATC, and the petals look so pretty with that subtle stamping on.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Diana x
