About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog.I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary, plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #601 - Thanks for the Zoom Meet-Up Ladies

It was so good to meet up with lots of you lovely ladies last Saturday on Zoom.

I was even inspired to make some Christmas cards. I was going to make just the one, based on one I'd seen on Julia's #598 blog post

Then I remembered a tree die I'd bought a few years ago and a few developed from there.

Following that I was checking out my card blanks box I foundsome "designer" cards so used my left over diecuts and some more on those.

Voila, 12 Christmas cards! Woo Hoo the most cards I've made in a long long time.

I did make my son's 22nd Birthday card before putting everything away. I'd mentioned it to him and despite blue being his favourite colour, he said not blue again! I said I wish I could used Pink and Purple and he said Why Not! So I did just that.

Thanks again, it was a super meet-up.

WOYWW #595 - On a roll...

Yep quite inspired this week, 6 layouts and started a new jigsaw too.

Here's my craftcorner and desk. I've moved my monitor up a "Thesaurus" which has helped my neck enormously.

Oh my life I just dragged the photos on to the blog page (auto response as to how it used to work) and it worked!!! Didn't need to go through the rigmarole of all the steps to upload a photo. YAY .

Anyway, I finished off scrapping February 2019.

Managed to fit all of March on a double layout, and started on April...

Still having a bit of trouble placing the photos where I want them and text in between with this new blogger thingy but really happy you can drag them on now.

Yep and the new jigsaw is another borrowed one, I tend to swap with a friend when we see eachother at church once a fortnight, other than that and hospital appointments I don't meet up with anyone these days so lovely to have a window into the crafting world via WOYWW.

Just managed to put the text where I wanted too, definitely picked the right title today.

Oh and one last thing, my medical insurance had said it didn't cover the full amount of my anaesthetist's fees but in the end it actually paid it in FULL. Happy dance.

WOYWW #594 - Post Surgery (AWOL 9 Weeks)

Nearly 2 calendar months since my left shoulder surgery and I was determined to do some crafting before joining in here again. So here's my desk with a double layout - YAY.

I did get back into jigsaws about 3 weeks post op and have done 4 of those.

However all the shoulder exercises and physio have irritated my neck so I can't stay at my desk too long.

I can now more my arm about 90-95% of normal range which is a huge improvement but it is still quite sore and my right arm/shoulder has decided to join in with hurting along with the neck and right hip and back so sleeping is quite torturous.

The house jigsaw was lent to me by a friend but the other three were from my "The Works" order per-op. I did get a partial refund for the one damaged jigsaw I returned, it was less the voucher I used to pay for order, not sure if that was a coincidence or not - still pursuing that.

My main activity is walking, although it's raining today, shall I? Unfortunately I'm unable to get back into my "normal" activities of badminton and dancing due to COVID restrictions let alone the shoulder!

Anyway I "need" to make an anniversary card today, have been lacking in sending greetings cards the past few months but I really ought to get back into crafting and sitting at my desk with SAD light, now the days are drawing in and murky.

WOYWW #585 - Surgery Next Week!

In a bit of a whirl here as got a date for my surgery for my frozen shoulder on Monday for NEXT Monday! Eeeeekkkk! Had two days trying to sort it all out as the anaesthetist's fees weren't all covered by the insurance so haggled with her directly on the phone yesterday! Oh my! It has all suddenly become so real. I go for my Covid-19 SWAB this afternoon, hence reminder on desk, and will need to self isolate from household after that till Monday too.

Did finish off my LO from last week and added secret journalling on the tag behind my photo.

Did one of my jigsaws but the picture was all cracked so I have sent it back for a refund. I'd say it was diecut before the glue on the picture was dry. Glad it was just the 500 piece one.

Can't believe it takes 6 clicks of buttons to upload a photo and then one to add it. You can't upload a few and go back to add each one where you want as they disappear from upload and you can't just drag and drop them in anymore either. Then how on earth do you move them to the right place!!! It's doing my head in.

WOYWW #584 - Drastic Times - Drastic Measures

Well here I am back on the Computer (Long Story) and automatically straight to the new blogger and can't spot the legacy button here either (like tablet last week) so I'm going to go with it!!!

Managed to add photo but no idea how to move it, deleted it by accident but really glad of "Ctrl Z - Undo" on the PC!

I'm really struggling with this heat and go to sleep naked under a damp tea towel. Yes you heard it right.

I saw a consultant about my shoulder yesterday (apparently Frozen Shoulder) and on entry to the hospital my temp was 39 C the highest the guy had ever recorded. I had to wait until it came down before I could enter! I sat with cool pad and mini fan - LOL. Question is, do I opt for the surgery as I've had this for over a year now??? Tried Osteopath, Steroid Injection and Physio over the past year btw.

Anyway, here's the draft of the scrapbook page on my desk. I know now it marks my LMP as it was 18 months ago. I'd struggled with extremely heavy and prolonged periods for quite a few years and had to resort to taking Northisterone once a year to just stop it all for a while. This was the last time days before I turned 55yrs.

It's left me with Frozen Shoulder loads of aches and pains and generally HOT with hot flashes on top. Even in the Winter I don't have heating on in my bedroom and the window open! I am SO struggling right now!

I have managed some scrapping in the slightly cooler times.

My Friend's live streamed wedding from the USA, back in January 2019, who knew this would be the new norm? My son's return to Uni in Year 2, I took him as my hubby was recovering from surgery.

Some stuff with hubby whilst son away. Some geocaching when we popped into a garden centre and I got this fairy half price in the January sale. The last time we actually ate out, so quite a moment for us!

Here's the  pile of goodies I got from The Works delivered yesterday. I used my loyalty voucher on-line but the reduction didn't show up despite clicking the button. Hence emails ensue only to find out it doesn't show online but is actually counted so I was charged less than it says - curious.

Think I best stop whilst the going is good (blogger speaking) and go for a walk in the relative cool as now hubby is up so I won't have to close all the doors and windows.

WOYWW #583 - On Tablet!

Our broadband went down yesterday at 9.55am and the BT engineer isn't due till 14th August (10 days!!!). As usual they blame it on our set up and will be sending a replacement hub today despite the fact that we've tried two already to the same effect!

Our backup wifi 4G mini hub is unreliable and extremely slow so using my PC is out of the question as it doesn't have WiFi, so I've tethered my tablet to my phone, with the backup unlimited data and attempting to write my page from there.

Add to that the new blogger interface seems to be the default now, and I have no idea how to add my photos...... Had to use Help as I didn't realise the options bar scrolled!!!

Oh looks like I've managed it, but this is so not easy. So let's just say I've actually scraped a bit. The end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, yup still a fare bit behind.

Can't seem to move second photo now and can't delete it either to place it differently aaarrrrhhhh. Oh my just deleted it by accident!!!! So added in a better place now! Phew

Best stop while the going is good.

WOYWW #582 - FIRST - Proud Mum

It's safe to say that my desk hasn't changed from a fortnight ago!

Last week I was waiting for my son's degree results on the Thursday so was totally preoccupied. I even BOUGHT him a card!

So proud, he got a First in Computer Science at Southampton University.

Have since found out my friend's son also got a FIRST so I actually made him a card!

Oh and I saw this rainbow picture on my walk this week. Get annoyed at the number of rainbows with only 6 colours, this one certainly addressed the balance!

WOYWW #580 - Spot the difference...

Desk is totally uninspiring so I included my shelves this week.

How things seem to pan out is I do my blog each week and it gets me scrapping for a few days then is fizzles out until I blog again so I guess I have WOYWW to thank for my mojo these days.

Did 4 LOs last week nearly rounding up 2018 in the process.

A friend's Baptism and me with the kids at church. I've not been able to help with the kids for over a year now due to my shoulder issue.

A mishmash of various stuff up to Christmas and some friends round for dinner afterwards.

Then there's my son's 20th birthday. I was SO not happy with the layout as I fixed the photos intending to put the balloons all around but when that didn't work and they ended up on the side the photos were too high on the page. I ended up cutting up the original page and remounting it all on another 12x12 sheet. What a pickle and it hardly looks moved at all!!

And finally the jigsaw update - I finished the balloons and started the butterflies, really glad the latter is only 500 pieces LOL. I did the design first on my tablet, so electronically, and had to get the actual puzzle last year. It is quite a challenge.

WOYWW #579 - Mrs Neat

I guess I am Mrs Neat, I craft and then I put it all away, well it is the corner of my bedroom after all...

Got my photos delivered all 130 of them from Dec 2018 up to May 2019.

I noticed I needed to add a couple of garden flowers to a little CD book I made back in 2013 so I did that this week. The Snakes Head Fritillary pages are the new ones. Only get two popping up each spring, and they always surprise and delight me.

I did a couple of the Christmas 2018 pages, I was an interesting time as my husband had an operation early December, which saved us going to visit anyone as I hate travelling and staying away from home especially at Christmas.

I finished my jigsaw and started on redoing one from last year, but I guess that's all for me for this week.

WOYWW #578 - When I'm 64

Not much doing this week except hubby's birthday card for Thursday.

Had a sort of rainbow moment.

Thanks for all the "missing pieces" jigsaw suggestions last week, might make some Christmas snowflake decorations, who knows, certainly won't take incomplete ones back to the charity shops despite getting them from there!

And I've been re-doing the jigsaw my son got me last Christmas.

I guess that is it for me then.
