About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Junk Journaling too. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Art Journaling, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing, but am plagued by a bad back. I like walking which I couple with Geocaching and sometimes Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I guess I am officially retired now. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #619 - July 2020 Started

Here's my desk Tuesday evening, all put away ready to go make dinner. I layout my photos, papers, embellies and cover with 12x12 see-through bags whilst I ponder them overnight or whenever.

Here's Hubby putting our house name plaque on the wall at last, only been here 20 odd years. He'd taken it down when he restored the porch and it never found a new home till last May.

June was full of cycling for hubby and walking for me oh and colouring my hair! The Foxgloves I saw on a walk are just my colour.

PAIRS (left) is a page of the 3 of us out in pairs towards the end of June 2020. Walking in the local woods and a very unusual geocache with my son. Didn't do much geocaching as it was so HOT last Summer!!! As well as lockdownish.

Dream & Explore (Right) is a chance meeting of a dance friend who turns out to be a keen gardener, and being invited into his garden and his neighbour's garden too. Who needs Kew eh? It was amazing and wonderful and curious, they open for the garden show thingy's - it was such a surreal encounter.

I did make a card for a friend's son, quickly and went to post box at midnight and it was still 3 days late! Oh man. Hubby posted his passport off for renewal on 3rd and it is only due for delivery tomorrow - 14th!!!

I've had to deploy Pigeon defences as their bathing in my new pond is wreaking havoc with the new plants, and leaving a horrid scum on the water. Did make them an alternative, although I do have 2 other birdbaths already in the garden.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #618 - May 2020 Nearly Sorted.

Desk shot taken Tuesday evening.

The eagle eyed will spot my watercolour of my pond.

I had a go at the  little square samples last week, along with an origami twisted box, then thought I'd have a go at the pond.

I'm more of a splodge and go type of a painter LOL.

I seem to have managed a few layouts nearly wrapping up May 2020.

Oh and the pond, it you'd like to see the creation to date, click on Amelia Pond for my previous post on the matter. Here are a few photos anyways.

So that's me for the week.
Some more plants on order and cracking on with scrapping.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Amelia POND - The Beginnings

I had a dream of a pond for many years but it had got forgotten in time.

Then I was doing a Bible study and it was about having a dream, and I thought, "I don't have a dream" so I prayed about it, and soon after the pond dream came back to mind.

I did the Amazon thing and found a "starter pond" preformed liner and then I posed the possibility to my husband and son. Within days my hubby bought the liner for me. Whilst awaiting its delivery, I made a paper cut-out to see where I could place it in the garden. The most obvious was down the bottom, as it can be seen from the kitchen, the lounge and my bedroom but it is quite shady there. I then researched shady pond plants....

It arrived Tuesday evening of 23rd March so Wednesday 24th March was digging day!

Hubby and son went off to Homebase to get some sand to line the hole and some pebbles for round the edge. They also got 3 new fence panels!!! I got down to the digging.

A few hours later and I was filling it with water butt water and arranging the pebbles and cleaning the gravel...

It was murky for a while but soon cleared. The following day hubby and son replaced the fence panels!!

I ordered my first lot of plants from Puddleplants in Llandeilo and they took a week to arrive. I received them on 1st April (Maundy Thursday) and had them planted in a couple of hours.

The following day the Water Hawthorne flower opened, it's like a little dragon's mouth (it is a plant OK in shade whereas Water Lilies require full sun).

So today we went for a family walk in the woods and happened to find a big angle cut piece of wood and some sticks, so they are now to the right of my pond. I love my little water garden.
