About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (currently a year behind!), plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #842 - Bed Desk!

Here's my bed desk this week where I've started sorting my next 2 scrapbook albums out. The 12"x12" albums usually come with 10 pages (20 layouts) and I expand them to 30 pages (60 layouts) each.

I just have 5 LOs for February 2025 to finish my current album which is my 20th album, oh my!

Here's my first page for 2025 and the THING which dominated our lives for months!

It took a good 2 months for our GAS PIPE to get done and a further 4 months of continued road closures before they had finished in the area.

January saw me doing some sewing. I converted a pair of trousers into a skirt, made the fabric book I saw back in November's Zen week. And I did the mushroom felting course.

I found a scrapbook page with sewing patterns on it which I spread over the double layout. Even came across my sewing dies, don't use those often.

Actual sewing this week was repairing
the rip in the tent for our kids groups at church. Ladder stitch worked a treat. Fortunately a ball point needle saved me pricking my left hand which went severely numb during the process. Ouchy!

The weekly scripture writing was on Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth.

What stood out to me was that Meekness is NOT weakness as we tend to think but rather Strength Under Control.

So glad it is a bit cooler this week but still mighty warm in my room though. Getting a bit fed up with it really and my left hand has started to complain bitterly too (going numb at the slightest thing, even typing this...).

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Mattress stitch for the WIN! So handy, isn't it? Love the 2025 kick off page and you are steaming ahead. The sewing page looks wonderful, & I LOVE meekness is not weakness - what a wonderful statement and words to live by. Happy Knitting Day WOYWW!

I'm feeling guilty now. I kept some old dresses because I loved the fabrics and intended making them into something else but never got round to it. I must try and get them out again soon. Well done with your recycling. Happy woyww, Angela x10x

I do love your Bible Scripture pages. Great phrase “Meekness is not weakness”. Gosh that Gas pipe repair went on for a long time! Ladder stitch when properly done is a great stitch, unfortunately I seem to muck it up and it doesn’t look as neat as it should. Sorry to hear about your hand x Hugs Angela #12

Gosh that's a lot of albums!! Since our refurb all the photos have been in carrier bags (they lost their shelf). I have just put them in my new cupboard that arrived last Thursday. They are still high on my list to sort (and discard) but I have today decided that is a Dec/January job, and I just need them out of my eyeline for now.
(I won't be scrapping them!!)
Have a good week, love n hugs Cindy #12
