About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (currently a year behind!), plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #820 - Birthday Week

Well there we are, I'm now 61yrs, feels like the downward slope now! Good job I have crafting to keep me going and bring joy to my soul.

The sun forgot to shine on Saturday (15th) but most of the day was taken up sorting out my new phone!

Oh my how many notification to stop or silence?

New case and rainbow wrist lanyards too.

Crafty items are a mushroom punch for disc journals. Can't believe how well they stay attached. A big bag of extra discs too.

A new selection of 20 watercolour paints in tubes with a bag of half pans to put them in. I can fit an additional 15 in my current palette and with only 5 duplicate colours that works out perfectly.

I managed to finish off last February's scrapping with our anniversary walk and leap day caching.

The red fungi is Scarlet Elf Cup, I thought it was a crisp packet at first with the bright red really prominent on the ground! It was featured on the felting workshop which reminded me.

My son's visit home last March for a concert and to leave a surprise plant in the garden for the following week's Mother's Day!

Can't believe I didn't spot it sitting there in full view of the kitchen window, let alone when I was actually gardening!

Then the visit to a dancing friend's garden with a group from dancing.

Freesia heaven.

And finally on my desk is the prep for a live on my Bible Journaling FB group for next Saturday.

I have a ladies event at church on Saturday as well, will be a busy day...

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Congratulations on your birthday for a start. What a lot of lovely gifts you got. I think myk phone will stay with me forever now and not be replaced unless something goes wrong. Too much to learn with a new one and all the gadgets that come with it.
Your paints look wonderful and such bright colours.
Sorry but I am not with it re the mushroom for the disc journals. Not a clue what they are but looking forward to seeing them in use in the future.
Great LO's

Happy belated birthday BJ. Some fabulous crafty gifts there that I am sure you will make full use of. Love the latest scrapping results too. PTCs are Parchment Trading cards - like ATCs but made of parchment attached to card for swapping. Settling down for a leisurely desk visit after a lovely lie in. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

For some reason I had a sense of Deja vu, where have I seen that you had a new phone and discs before? A belated happy birthday. Keep looking at the date so I don’t miss the FB event. I missed craft at church today For some reason I thought it was this afternoon. I may be losing the plot🙈. Happy WOYWW. Angela #15

Happy Birthday. I know how you're feeling I had my 71st birthday this year and was feeling a bit down about it but we went skiing in January and had a great week so I've decided my aim for now is to keep as fit as I can and forget my age at least for now. I use those discs and like you I was surprised how good they are. I've not seen a mushroom like that before at first I thought it was a Fly Agaric like the ones we were felting with Sophie but it doesn't appear to have any white spots. Wishing you a happy woyww. Hugs Angela x14x

My word BJ, I wish you happy returns but at a very similar age, refuse to feel the same as you about it!! You did have some lovely pressies, hope your phone is great, always interested in opinions about new phones. Meanwhile, loving that you're mastering the scrapbook pages again. I love fuchsia, can almost share the smell of them from here!

Happy Birthday BJ! As someone 10 years older than you, life still exists and even gets better! Love your new phone cover. New phones are always hard to get to know at first, but soon you will have no problems! Lovely scrap book pages, I love the one with your son! Have fun with your new watercolours! Have a wonderful creative week! Lindart #17

Happy Birthday! Hope you have managed to set up your phone! I am still working on my new computer. Every time I do something I realise that's another piece of software I haven't downloaded!
You seem to have had a good set of presents - - but 61 is definitely not the downward slope!!
