About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #781 - Reprieve

So I hadn't intended to do a blog post this week as WOYWW had essentially disbanded. I'd finally got around to sending my ATC Swaps and I received my first 2. Many thanks to Jo-Twiglet and my surprise ATC from Wipso-Annie.

I emailed my SWAP partners and I got the hint that WOYWW hadn't completely hit the dust. After being devastated with the news last week, as it was like losing a friend, I'm now back in the saddle wondering where we go from here and when the take over will be, but oh so glad this isn't the end after all.

So for me - I finished my week long retreat and here are the last 5 pages. I joined the Facebook group Express Your Artsy Soul  as the leader's (Casey Turner) work really inspired me (middle page)

I finished the 12 day Nest Fest and the day's lesson which really got me was on Acrylic paints, so I copied the page adding my bits to it.

I also plodded along with Messy May which as it says on the tin is daily throughout May. I loved the work from the day 15 botanical prompt, making my own hand drawn stencil/mask from acetate. A bit like Helen's stamp and mask which I have been drooling over lately.

Here's the past 6 days of Messy May. The last page was really from Casey's Facebook Monday prompt of using Lime Green but it seemed to fit the Bold of Messy May so I combined them.

If that wasn't all I turned up my new light loose trousers for geocaching walks. Big advantage of being so short is just enough fabric left over to make patch pockets - horrah. Awkward to sew on ready made trousers but they will do the trick.

Added a loop tag to tie stuff on too in the field, my left hand Carpal Tunnel is really bad so I can't hold my phone for long now. Good news is I have an appointment for 27th June for my first steroid injection. Praying that will alleviate the symptoms.

After posting my overseas ATCs today I hit the local charity and stationary shops and came home with these.

Music score, dress pattern, plasterboard joint tape, wooden trinkets and 3 new paint colours, the red is neon whoop whoop.

I have created a PDF of my hand drawn/painted flowers/foliage and thought I could share this here as a thank you for all the friendships over the years. Feel free to download and use if you wish.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Roll on the 27th of next month then. My injection didn't work for about three days then suddenly I realised there was no more pain. Hope it is as successful for you.
Fab pages as usual BJ, I am always in awe of your work that you share with us and I am well impressed with the trousers, Impressed with the haul too.

Oh I do hope the injection works for you, I was in heaven when I got one for my ankle and that was over 10 years ago now. You are really getting a lot out of these courses, your style is really developing and growing - I bet you are pleased you made the time. ATC will get postedthis week, but looking at the weather maybe not today! Have a good week, love n hugs Cindyxx #7

Hope your injection is successful. I am having a series of 12 injections in my hips and knees - half way now. I am hoping these will add some lubricant to the joints...
How busy you have been! My additions to Messy May have been negligible!
Happy WOYWW! Susan #10

I fear a steroid injection might be in my future as well, as the IVIG wears off. Fun times...I would miss your fulsome posts if WOYWW was ending so quite glad it has all worked out. There was a moment of panic there. wasn't there? Anyway, your ATC is on the way and thanks for the PDF - I am totally going to use that and soon. Lovely stuff!
Roll on another 15 years…
Happy New Location WOYWW!

I'm so glad this is continuing, it's a lovely group to belong to. I'm enjoying your pages, they are all so lovely and the new stash looks very interesting - I bet you'll have some fun with all that. I do hope the injection works for you - the symptoms are so horrible and frustrating to live with.
Have a great week,

I missed the acrylic session unfortunately. I am in the middle of doing my prayer cards and looking forward to the watercolour flowers one. Your flower sheet is gorgeous! I really need a small printer in the caravan, trouble is they are expensive. Love you work on show today. Happy WOYWW. Angela #11

Good morning, BJ.
Lovely pieces.
Sorry about the carpal tunnel. Get that taken care of asap. My husband waited to long for the surgery and the snip didn't work. He still has constant tingling in his fingertips - says it's like picking up a cactus constantly.
So blessed we are still all together!

Fabulous craftiness on your work top as always and I'm loving those flowers/leaves etc at the bottom! I was about to do something simular for my freebie, but got cross with the printer, still prints things double, oddly, I printed something on coffee stain paper and it worked ok! Have a great new WOYWW week! ((Lyn)) #17

I am also very happy that WOYWW is still going! I love your PDF, thank you! You may just see some of those images in my journals! Very good idea, I think I might just make copies of my images as well so I don't have to keep remaking them! Since I've done my 100 days of using fodder (day 91 today!) I am definitely running out! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #18

Hi BJ, I'm a bit late getting round today as I got the message this morning that my mum died early this morning but it's a relief for her as she's not been doing too well for some time, she was 95. I had intended posting your ATC today but as you c an imagine I've been a bit distracted but it will be on it's way soon I promise. Loving your new stash. I saw your comment about the paint on my blog. I got them from Etsy, it is a UK company. I have only bought the tiny set as they are not cheap and I wanted to try them out. This link should get you there: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1484283122/mini-mythical-palette-handmade?
Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x13x

Hello BJ, Like you, I'm so relieved that WOYWW is continuing. It would be such a loss otherwise. For somebody who is struggling with carpal tunnel syndrome you are doing incredibly well with your craftng and sewing too! Hopefully the injection will make a big difference. I like your charity shop finds and now I'm wondering what you intend to do with the pattern. Are you going to make up the dress or use the tissue for something else entirely? Have a great week.
