About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog.I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary, plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #858 - Still Stitching

I am still loving the Making Zen Stitching Retreat.

I still have lots to have a go at but for now I've been adding the finishing touches to the Upcycled Denim Pocket bag with Sashiko-Inspired Stitching.

I wanted to make the bag up so I can use it for popping my phone in when I am out walking.

I added a zip for a more secure main pocket. I used the crotch seam for the strap which I find quite amusing.

I made a little needle book - that's been pending since the May Zen workshops so in the end I forwent the stitching and just made the book.

The only gingham I had was just a printed one and far too small for the stitching really.

I altered hubbies PJs whilst I had the trusty sewing machine out too.

Glad I have the 2nd table so I can leave it out a while for other projects.

I made a couple more little birds.

One for a neighbours daughter and one for my son in his new flat.

I followed the Snippet Roll video with gusto and has to stop myself at 50cm.

However I have now realised I could cover my tin with it so it needs to be longer now - LOL, with tapered ends.

The only papercrafting has been using up some scraps in a mini album (7.5x5cm).

I only made it as I found the sheet whilst looking for something else!

The scraps were the stamping tests fropm the cards I made the other week, wrapping tissue and words I had kept as special.

My photos came but the quality wasn't great I called Photobox and they have given me a voucher to get them reprinted. Might just get my next lot with that although it is only valid for 2 months. Hmmm.

Still coughing - although did manage the drive to visit son in his new flat on Sunday.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Wow, wow, wow. I love the pocket bag, so cute, and great decorative stitching on it. The snippet roll is also amazing. I've done paper ones, but boy I love the look of the fabric ones. I feel like it could make a cute lap quilt (or blanket/rug for my Poppy to sit on) sewn together in strips. She would love playing with all the free floating ends LOL! Glad to see a bit of papercrafting too :) Sad about the photos, but at least you got the voucher!
Happy mad-dash WOYWW!

Sorry you’re still coughing, I find thyme- based Bronchostop pastilles helpful, as are the Bumblezest Ginger, turmeric and CBD shots, when my asthma’s bad. (https://b-zest.co.uk/shop/health-shots/ginger-and-turmeric-shot/). You’ve been very busy this week and I love your sashiko bag , your mini album and the cute little birds.
Happy WOYWW

Wow, BJ you are busy all those projects. The needle case is exquisite, reminds me of a hard sewn I made in 3rd class at school 😂😂😂
Paper work creation is well done too. Such diversity and no Christmas in sight. That's all I'm doing at moment as sending overseas in next week. Did first lot today's mail our Friday.
Happy belated WOYWW, Shaz in Oz.x

Good morning, BJ
What is this with son's and their new abode's. You're the second one who's had a son find his own nest. LOL
Love all the stitching. That bag looks very useful.
for now my needles are in a brag album. I have thought about a fabric album. We shall see. Thanks for inspiring.
