About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #751 - Surprised!

Gosh, hadn't realised I'd done so much crafting until I had a look at my photos for the last week.

Got a bit sick of retrieving my box of collage bits and pieces from the floor so my Cuttlebug has moved!

So on the desk are:-

1) One new page in my envelope prayer journal, prayers for Peace, personal peace, that peace of mind despite all the chaos around us peace. Sigh!

2) Two scripture52 cards for week 41 & 42 as I got behind somewhat post conference.

3) Three days worth of the 10-day Bible Journaling challenge, post conference on the Helmet of Salvation.

Day 3's scroll reminding us that our inheritance is waiting for us in heaven, yay happy dance!

Plus not on my desk are the sewing projects I finally got around to.

a) replacing my net curtain which was quite literally in shreds!!!

b) reducing a quilt cover from king size to single for spare bed, I did it inside out as it was well faded on the right side. It's just a plain navy with check pattern in the weave so all good.

Oh and an anniversary card for my friend.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

WOYWW #750 - Jet Lag

After 3 days of living in Phoenix Arizona time for the Bible Journaling Conference last week I am still a bit befuddled time wise. Slowly coming round though.

I have blogged each day of the Conference here

Day 1   Day 2  and  Day 3

So this is my desk now. My conference folder still needing a bit of attention plus a bonus printable from one of the speakers.

I actually got to grips with making the accordion book and that is sitting there with some diecuts ready for the cover.

The envelopes were attached on one side of the folds and the bit I hadn't realised was the folds were stuck together on the OTHER side.

One of my favourite techniques only seen and not tried before was the painted string pull. Here are my scrap papers from the process.

And the other brilliant thing last week was receiving these little darlings from Annie. How cool are they?

Hopefully I'll do better stopping by this week.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Bible Journaling Conference 2023 - DAY THREE

Pretty shattered by this point going to bed gone 2am 2 nights in a row, but I don't usually sleep much anyways.

The last day had 9 Sessions, but I only did 6 pages.

The Belt of Truth - even though this one also was essentially a digital session, there were printables included also, it was a word study on TRUTH.

(The Breastplate of Righteousness  - not today)

The Gospel of Peace - stand firm with your feet planted firmly in the GOSPEL of Peace.

I dedicated this one to all those caught up in the conflict in Israel. Part of the devotional pamphlet had the title "Holy War" which prompted this.

The Shield of Faith

We learnt that the Roman Soldiers shields were made of wood and covered in leather and were soaked in water before battle which helped with fire arrows!

We must be equipped for the day and know the Word of God.

The Helmet of Salvation - protecting our mind, being actively in control of our thoughts, "take every thought captive" as from them come our actions.

Pray over our thoughts

Perceive which thoughts are from God and which aren't

Pull out the weeds and plant new thoughts

Promote Biblical thought patterns

Blessed Assurance of Salvation.

Knowing WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST - your identity, affirmations.

Mental Health, Battlefield of the mind.

Loved this string pull craft. Seen it before but never actually tried it. I was like a kid in kindergarten. The scrap papers are brill too.

The Sword of the Spirit - The only offensive piece of the armour.

God's Word is true, powerful, consistent and trustworthy.

It empowers us.

This was a tip-in for your Bible using washi tape and scrapbook paper.

I doodled on the inside and then noticed I'd actually made a stylized sword!!

How cool is that! Especially as I was flagging by this point.

Prayer  - The last session was about making Pretty Prayer Cards and was essentially digital although I did have a printout. Thought I'd do them in my own time and put in my Prayer Journal which I made yesterday.

As so to my desk the following morning (I'd tidied away during the Facebook Live recap at 1am).

What a fantastic time, and all FREE. Hubby even made dinners for me which I slotted in just about. Looking forward to next year now.

And breathe.....

Bible Journaling Conference 2023 - DAY TWO

Still buzzing from Day ONE, and today we had 10 Sessions.

Our host started us off by stressing the "putting on" of the Armour.

The Belt of Truth (not today, probably as we had 2 yesterday!)

The Breastplate of Righteousness - about how our thinking is reflected in our actions and to guard our heart and align our thinking to God's way.

The bees represent the Holy Spirit as they are essential to flowers and that the holy Spirit changes us.

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

The Gospel of Peace - How we should be prepared every day.

So many layers to this craft page, loads covered up! We collaged words, white paint over to tone down, water coloured poppies, acrylic paint through stencils, then images on top.

Bit of a mammoth session. Paint everywhere even seeping through the rings to next page too! Oh my!

Putting on our shoes of peace.

I copied my soles instead of using them as stamps, couldn't quite bring myself to ink them up!

The Shield of Faith - Believing God for the Breakthrough.

A very poignant and personal talk.

The Helmet of Salvation - protecting our head and mind.

This was fuss free Bible Journaling with kids.

It focused on the Hebrew word  זכר - Zakar which means to remember but actively.

Like when Joshua instructed the 12 tribes to take up a stone from the middle of the Jordan and erect a memorial as a sign for future generations.

Remember good things.

The Sword of the Spirit -

We found out that the Roman soldiers battle sword was usually a two foot dagger however they trained with much bigger heavier swords.

Meaning we should study with the heavier sword - The whole Bible but use the lighter one in battle as in particular scriptures which concentrated their power.

Praying Always - with a Prayer Journal

At last the way to construct the accordion journal. I even got it wrong watching the video, and had to pause quite a lot. Hope I took enough photos of the process to enable me to repeat it.

The Scripture card was about recording specific scriptures on cards and keeping on a book ring. The "lighter dagger" described above.

I've decided to put mine in the prayer journal and I have quite enough cards on rings (Scripture52 weekly challenge this year - flip through of first 6 months here).
The end of Day 2 and the work space is a lot messier now and where oh where shall I sleep!!!

Cleared bed and pushed ironing board towards chair for the night....

Bible Journaling Conference 2023 - DAY ONE

The Armour of God (AOG) Bible Journaling Conference got off to a great start yesterday.

UK time it started at 4pm and finished after 1am!

In true WOYWW style here is my desk and ironing board set up. It started pretty tidy....

The Armour of God has a number of facets:-

I'll pop my entries under each item so not in running order.

The introduction covered all parts and was by the conference host. It was easily achievable in the time, just yellow acrylic paint scraped onto the page and the printable items cut and stuck as we liked

The Belt of Truth which is our foundation, holding everything together.

We got a Faith Zine which I tipped-in on my ticket page. We were encouraged to print a number off to give to people.

Only problem is the elephant in the room and the spelling of ARMOR!!! I tried NOT to look and skipped on by.

A second one for the Belt of Truth.

The message being we have:-

Freedom in Truth

Safety in Truth

Readiness in Truth

The Breastplate of Righteousness - keeping our eyes on Jesus who will protect our heart and soul.

The Gospel of Peace - being ready to share the good news with out feet firm and prepared daily.

We were encouraged to make scripture cards to give to people.

This was a digital session but we were supplied with printables as well, which is a good job as I haven't got into digital journaling yet.

The Shield of Faith - The power of God and the unity of believers, deflecting every attack.

The Helmet of Salvation - protecting our mind.

A session on mental health and standing by others.

The Sword of the Spirit - (didn't have a session on this one specifically today)

Praying Always - covers all.

Thank you Lord for providing all the equipment I need to thwart the evil one.
    Amen

WOYWW #749 - Bible Journalling Conference

The "Armour of God" Bible Journalling Conference starts this afternoon. 3 days of crafty goodness with spiritual devotions, my heaven.

My desk isn't ready as yet as it doesn't start till 4pm and I'll be getting the ironing board out as a extra surface.

So what IS on my desk?

A leaf and a pine cone from our Geocaching adventure yesterday, also the bag of a hand made key fob found in a cache (TFTC - Thank you For The Cache) suitable exchanged trinkets left in the cache. I love it when we find something special. It's already adorning my geo-bag.

Hanging to the right is my weekly scripture52 card starting the final quarter of the year.

And the church colouring page which I water coloured when I got home. Funny thing is I thought the mound to the left was a HILL of even the SUN and thankfully painted as the latter, stood back and realised it is actually the BREAD! So glad I didn't paint it green!

Front left is a pile of papers saved from my hubby's loft sort recycling box. Some are really old, lots with electrical diagrams all super for collage woke.

Behind are a couple of scrapbook pages pending inspiration, but will definitely be "parked" for this week.

I really must Julia for her comment last week, saying it is OK to do a LO with one photo now and again as I nearly ditched my single photo of January's planting.

I have now paired it with a February photo (blue page) of things I did and faced with 3 photos of things Hubby did.

Can you see the outline of Her Majesty's face between the chimneys and aerials, hence the stamps for embellishments.....

I did some more doodles with water colours.

So to the Conference, I have an A4 Folder, full of all the printables, ready and adorned with the Sword of the Spirit, it's next to last years Fruit of the Spirit folder.

And I added the Mighty Warrior to the back of my notebook which I started last year.

So Excited.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW - #748 - Acrylic Paints Swatch Card

So I walked into the village to post off my son's old Primary School Uniform to Annie and popped into the local stationary shop to pick up a couple of paints.

I got a blister on my foot to add to my woes.

Typically I forgot my swatch card and couldn't find a photo of it on my phone so the Pink was new but the Turquoise and Green are jolly similar to what I already had, even though those were Distress Paints. No matter.

I have a set of little tubes as well, these are just the single purchase ones.

Last Thursday I ended up with the first part of Root Canal Work on my tooth and the second part is tomorrow, with a crown sometime later when it has all settled down. I think it will all cost the best part of a grand! Oh my!

Crafting this week, my #scripture52 card is hanging up on the right, and week 39 marks the end of the 3rd quarter, so on the home straight now. This was all about God's love so I went full on with hearts.

"GOD IS LOVE"

I did my October Bible Journaling Ministries (BJM) page. It is on the Wisdom of Proverbs. Christ in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

BJM are the host of the FREE Bible Journaling Conference which starts next week and looks like there are still places if you are interested. It really is FREE, I did it last year. You get FREE 24hrs access to all the video sessions plus all the associated printables. I do it in American time so 4pm-1am Wednesday - Friday next week. Have hubby on dinner duty, So excited doing the Armour of God this year. Whoop Whoop.

Finally I did the last of the series on 2 Timothy about being ready in season and out. Still have lots of room in my NT Mini Bible, really enjoying the format and space it gives.

Think that was all I got up to whilst dealing with all the tooth trauma and subsequent pain and soreness last week. It's just about settled now but back for more work tomorrow... Eeek!

Happy WOYWW Everyone
