About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #403 - The Presents

Early morning desk, so no point even opening the curtains yet!

Thought you might like to see my wings though, they were a late found Christmas decoration last year which I couldn't bear to put away!

On my desk is my journal and the next set of photos for scrapping.

Anyway, amongst my presents for my birthday last week I got some new dies.

A couple of Tim Holtz thinlets sets which I saw on some desks a few weeks ago plus a set from a friend.

I had an initial play then I did the journal page using the months dies.

The dies cut like a dream and are already finding their way onto my scrapbook pages.

I added "july" to last weeks last page and "august" to its facing page which I did this week.

I did a couple more pages which were quite hard as it was from my son's visit to see his girlfriend last Summer but they broke up last month!

I made it matter of fact as it showed him on his first real train journey on his own which in itself was special.

So that's me for the week, onward and upward with the scrapping, only 6 months behind now...

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

I guess when you scrapbook, you have to show all aspects of your life not just all the happy stuff. The LOs are great and you got some fab prezzies there. The wings are beautiful, I can see why you haven't put them away :-D

I am not a scrapper but I can appreciate what others do and I love your pages but I must say I a so drawn to your journal. What a beautiful page, the head in the centre and then the other things around it, the colours you have used, everything about it!
Sorry to hear your son broke up, it obviously affected you but he must have had a valid reason.
Hugs, Neet 8 xx

Ace birthday presents! Your son's scrap page is bittersweet but I think you should be glad you documented it. Sometimes life gets in the way, but I think you are right for positively focusing on the aspect of it being his first train journey, good for you:) Keep up the good work and have a great week - EmbroidRage #2 x

Love all your new toys, and the months dies are awesome! I like how you used them in your journal, and on your layouts. I would love to see the other dies in use as well - guess I will have to wait! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #37

Hi BJ,

I can see just how clean the dies cut when I enlarge your photos. I like how you used the months on your journal pages. Great birthday presents for sure!
Even though your son broke up with his girlfriend, it's a part of his/your life and the page looks great. Nice to have his first solo train ride documented!

Happy WOYWW

Hi BJ. I am so loving those journal pages with the Tim Holtz dies, brilliant. It's been a busy week for me this week and I am still trying to complete my visits, sometimes it's just like that I guess. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy crafting Angela x 18
