About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #377 - Bits & Bobs & Bhs

To show I do manage to get some sun on my desk I took this yesterday late morning.

Much brighter than SAD light which is still on btw as the corner is jolly dark!

My bits and bobs tin had decided to share its contents with my desk this week, forcing me to sort, tidy and trim it down a bit.

So I made some cards and posted one already for an upcoming birthday.

Unfortunately after making the first one I got Juniper Liquid Pearls on my new Bhs t-shirt. Managed to get most of it off but there is still a slight stain.

Oh dear, and Bhs has closed for good now, I will miss that shop.
Slight glimmer of hope looking at the website link though???

So thank you bits and bobs tin for making me use some of your contents to make some cards.

And thank you Bhs for being such a great shop, you will be missed.

Happy WOYWW Everyone

PS Happy news my son did really well in his AS exams (1st year of A-levels - age 17yrs), and he's been up to Carlisle on the train alone to visit his girlfriend, but that's another story. Very proud Mummy.

Happy WOYWW. Nothing better than using up some of your bits and bobs. Gorgeous cards. Shame about the t shirt, but yes it does look like BHS is not totally dead. Not been for a few years anyway (our nearest is in a town about 90 minutes away that we don't go shopping in too often - might suggest to hubby that we go there later, as he wants to look at laptops and they have a big PC World there, and there is also a Lakeland!), but I always loved their lighting department. Congrats to your son. Great results. Ali x #12

If you haven't tumbledried your tshirt may I suggest using Shout spray - from Wilko or Waitrose - just spray on the stain and then wash. I find it more effective than Vanish and a lot less hassle!
Love those cards from your bits and bobs tin, I may start a tin like that as I tidy up .....
Take care

You made some great cards from your "bits & bobs tin". Love that name. I don't know what "bobs" are but probably related to "bits".
You have every right to be a proud Mom. Thanks for the peek, have a great week. #33

I have a bits and bobs box. It's fun to go thru it and find new ways to use the pieces.

Wow, that's a gorgeous card you made there, and well done for using up your bits and bobs - hopefully you've now made space in your tin to put some new ones in! Congrats to your son on his results too.
Hope you have a great week,

Hello BJ. Love you tin of bits and bobs and and stunning cards you have made. Congrats to your son with his grades. Also love the sun shinning across your desk.......I am so envious as I am in the basement with a tiny window that brings not much sun light in at all. Have a wonderful week Hugs ~Anne L#7

Hi BJ, Well done your son. It's so nice to here of youngsters doing well.

Wish my desk got the sun, but this room never get's much sun. My bedroom get's a little, but by the time the sun has got round to that side of the building it's getting obscured by the trees.

I have a odds and ends box and always look in that first when starting a project.

Cards are beautiful.

Ace is good on stains.

It is a shame that yet another well known store closes.
