I bought and altered a Summer dress this week. Didn't really have anything cool enough for this continued heatwave.....
I outlined the process in my previous post.
I was going to add in-seam pockets but I tried undoing the side seam on a piece I'd cut off and it proved a tad difficult. Flimsy material vs extra firm unusual stitching!
Eeeek! Oh well....
My living line is now 1.8 metres long. I added a floral section and am nearly at the end of my second backing strip.
Shall I add more I wonder???
Not done much else. Sunday was a lovely day cool breeze and I actually managed to turn off the air-con and have the windows open for a while. Oh and it was quiet without all the buildings works and dumper trucks too.
Unfortunately the heat is rising again so I'm back holed up in my room with the air-con on again.
I did fashion a couple of cardboard pieces to fill the gaps my window leaves with the flue at the base. I still attach the navy cloth to the bottom of my blackout blind as that goes round the flue as well.
That's about all the paper crafting I have done this week - LOL.

well done on the dress alteration, shame you couldn't add the pockets, I do love clothes with pockets!! I love your embroidery... I think you should add another section and see how long you can go.... it will keep you out of mischief at least!!! take care Happy WOYWW Helen #1

What a great job you did altering that dress, it looks really lovely on you! Shame about the pockets but at least you tried. If your living line gets any longer you’ll be rivalling the Bayeaux Tapestry! It is really lovely though xx

The dress looks lovely and really suits you. Well done with the alterations. Maybe instead of adding a pocket to the actual dress you could make a little drawstring bag, I don't know it's just a thought. Your altered dress really suits you. Maybe you could make a little shoulder bag with the off cuts? I dislike clothes with no pockets too.
Your living line looking beautiful, I’d definitely continue. I’ve looked at rollers so I could work on or display one part at a time. I haven’t found any that suit but dowelling with wine corks at the ends might work.

Your altered dress is better than the original and your embroidery work just lovely. Where we are at the moment, we are under a line of trees and it makes a dramatic difference to the temperature. Hugs Angela #10
