About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (currently a year behind!), plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #831 - What's Normal?

Have to say these cooler days have been much better for me, anything over 20C and I seem to stop functioning despite the air-con going full blast. Got a new fan now for the nights too as well as the blackout blind for the days... Oh my word.....

So nearly back to normal for me and then Sunday it was Hubby down to A&E for another UTI, not sure if I am coming or going!

I finished off the forgiveness series.

The Jonah painting series should be available soon, looking forward to that one. Might do watercolour in my Bible and acrylic in my Journal, we'll see.

Anyway back to last week and thanks to our Elizabeth I was made aware that last Saturday was Scrapbooking Day so I did a couple of pages for LAST MAY 2024.

One when I finally got a flower on my pond Iris which I'd planted back in 2021.

And I finished off May on Monday whoop whoop!

You guessed it, more geocaching!

I loved the technique of making collage sheets in colours from the Faith Fest so I made a set.

I guess they are a bit like snippet sheets.

Nothing like a bit of inane sticking of an evening to relax...

Finally - I bought a "Silk Screen" Stencil by mistake on-line. Really wanted a plastic one for inks and can't get them to work through this one. Does anyone know how I could make use of it or if not does anyone want it?

I so wanted a script stencil so was really disappointed with my mistake. Anyone know of a good script stencil and where I might get one from?

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Crafters Workshop used to do fabulous script stencils but no idea if they are still going, I don't think they can be. Glad you are enjoying the cooler weather, although I've been snuggled up in a blanket in the evening on the sofa! I love your May scrap pages. Happy WOYWW Helen #2

Cooler days are good for me too, I don't like it too hot. Hubby says he would like to move to Lerwick as it's always chilly there. Love the colages. I have some script stencils, I'll have a look at them later and let you know what make they are. Happy woyww, hugs Angela x10x

I don’t like being hot either, must be Viking blood or something! Those collage backgrounds are really awesome, what a great job you’ve made. I guess it’s fun making something that doesn’t require too much thought or planning!

I had a quick look and it seems you need a thickish acrylic paint, you could try using a squeegee or a credit card to scrape the paint through. I wonder if you could use it on a geli plate. I did screen printing at college many years ago, but this seems something different. If you haven’t opened it perhaps you could return it. Happy WOYWW. Angela #11

I am the complete opposite to you BJ, I can't function under 20 degrees and my preferred temp range is 20 - 24.
Great page4s - I think my last scrapbook was when I was 50 - I'm now 68!! Don't think I'll ever catch up now though I do the occasional photobook for a special w/e or holiday. I really need to get my scrapbook stash down - do you need any papers, albums or bits? I also have a box full of felting wool if you are getting into that.

Love the sets from the Faith Fest - what will you do with them?
The Forgiveness series look ever so pretty, I love faces so they appeal to me from that respect but also the colours are so pretty with the way you have laid them out.
Enjoy the cooler weather, I used to love the heat but not so mukch now.

Hello BJ, I do hope your husband is recovering well. Believe me, I know how distressing UTI's can be! It seems strange to hear you enjoying cooler weather. Up here in the frozen north we are enjoying hotter than usual weather. It's lovely but can be too much for this fair-skinned septuagenarian! I'm glad my mention of iNSD was a timely reminder to you. Your pages are lovely. The Iris is gorgeous. I haven't had a pond for safety's sake since before I had my firstborn. Since then there's been a stream of possibly accident prone grandchildren and great-grandchildren guaranteed to prevent me installing a pond. I do know though they are good for wildlife and lovely to look at. Have a fabulous weekend. Elizabeth x #14

It’s a shame your stencil doesn’t work as you hoped. Your journal pages are beautiful.
