About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #792 - Steampunk

Here's my desk this fine morning, it was actually cool enough to go dancing last night so I completely forgot to write my post yesterday!

I finished off my July journal last week with "Celebrate".

Loved doing Junk Journal July but looking forward now to a month without any specific prompts.

Here are my monthly journal's for this year so far.

What a mixture! All handmade journals except for February which was from my mate's crafty hen do back in January.

I painted Simeon in my Bible for week 5 of Devotion in Action's Summer series on Witnesses.

Simeon was there at the the dedication of Jesus at the temple. Luke 2:25-35.

Then pondered my August journal and fortunately came across a Steampunk one which was gifted to me many years ago.

I even have the 12" and 6" papers it was made from so I added a couple of tip-outs to make up 31 sides for use in August. Some are full sides and one is a tuck spot. There are some tags, big and small too.

Here's a flip through on my YouTube Channel

So I've gone all Steampunk using images from various Facebook groups:-

I love Digital & AI  and Gecko Gals challenge group & their main page and Fussy Cuts Freebies

Page one had a big pocket which I decorated with a Gecko Galz steampunk image from back in May.

The card inside the pocket has days 2&3

I added the sheet on the gear flap for Day 4 which has a tuck spot.

The tuck spot piece is a challenge for SeekGatherCreate over on Instagram.

They are doing a challenge each Sunday for August.

!!!Burning book pages over the kitchen sink was interesting!!!

Days 5 and 6 are challenges too.

Day 5 is a Treasure Hunt hosted by Fussy Cuts Freebies

I went all 1924 Olympics which were in Paris too, love the poster from that time so used that.

Day 6 was from Tutorial Tuesday over on Express Your Artsy Soul

The tutorial used a napkin and I had a balloon one so used that. Slight deviation from steampunk (except the backing paper!) but it seems to fit.

I did my Bible Journaling Ministries

and their Faith Inspirations one too.

Oh and I'm just a couple of weeks into a new "lifestyle" no sugar no carbs diet. I've known I have high cholesterol for a couple of years so I'm actually doing something about it at last. Lost 2.25 lbs in 2 weeks, slow but steady and I can eat cream!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

I’ve enjoyed seeing all the journals you do and very much like the recent pages as well, the steampunk quality is something that floats my boat! Good luck with the no carbs, I’ve tried it but not for me, I know someone who really likes it though!

What a great collection of journals already BJ. The August pages are looking fab too (especially Paris 1924) - that Steampunk journal is ace. I rarely eat any bread now and have plenty of salad, fruit and vegetables but cannot manage without some potatoes or pasta occasionally. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah

Goodness I remember those steam punk papers from DoCrafts! I did buy them and still have them somewhere I expect but I didn't actually like them! Funnily enough I love what you've done with them! Sending everyone a peaceful week, Lisa-Jane #12 www.prettymypage.co.uk

Your monthly journals are so fun. The video is a nice addition. I am always tempted by Gecko Galz. The images are so fab, I just don't have the discipline to stick to a prompt. My JJJ in A is going off script a bit already LOL!

A bit late but Happy WOYWW!

Hi BJ, I got as far as your lifestyle link, spent half and hour watching the video, went to the hairdresser, came back to watch the other half and thought maybe I should finish my blog visits first! Great pages and well done with the weight loss. I put on 5 lb while we were away and that was me trying to cut down! Actually I have been making my own muesli, with dates, cranberries, nuts and oats. I don’t measure anything and have no idea what the calories were. I looked at the cranberry packet and they are high in sugar 😩.

I really enjoyed seeing all the work that you done on your journals, especially watching the flip through which looks like it was a labour of love creating. I love steampunk and you've certainly created some wonderful projects with it. Have a great rest of the weekend Michelle#13
