About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #740 - Shopping!

Needed to expand my world beyond the internet so I planned to visit all the local art/craft shops.

Sad to find the art shop in Sutton had essentially closed at the end of July and they were just selling off stock now - so sad.

So what's actually ON my desk? Hmmm, my calligraphy worksheets, managed to do the first week of the 4 week free drills course. It's exactly that "drills" not as easy as I'd thought it would be, a day behind again, only caught up on Sunday!

My delightful new little NT Bible where I did my first page with bits stuck in it, also a first for me, and I used my new stencil. The text is only on the left hand side and the end of the chapter affords even more space.

It's about putting your Hope in God as He is our provider. It is from 1 Timothy 6 and fits in nicely with the watercolour study I have just completed on 1 Timothy in my other Journaling Bible.

Whoop Whoop I now have TWO Journaling Bibles.

This one focused on pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love endurance and gentleness. Pretty similar to the fruit of the Spirit, truth be told.

There's a list of the photos I have just ordered, so might have 175 photos ready to scrap next week. That's a BIG job, always put it off, but have 9 months on the way - November 2022 to July 2023. Really tried not to order too many, trying hard to pick the special moments in life's rich tapestry.

My new spoils mostly hidden...

From Sutton (The Works, Ryman and Art Shop)

From a little independent art and craft shop in Coulsdon (A3 Multimedia pad, Aqua tone, charcoal and #8 brush) - might even be ready for making a masterboard now.

Last week I did my August Bible Journal page with the free printable from  Bible Journal Minsteries (hosts of the conference in October).

It was a facebook live of how to do a background if you don't have a Gelli Plate. (which I don't). Although I have put a Gelli Plate on my Christmas List.

Thanks to Spyder and her reference to Ceri the Crafter last week I made a little match booklet for my #scripture52 pieces. I've doodled and added more to it since I took this photo.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Your bible pages are beautiful. Nice to be able to choose between the two now.

So sad that art and stamping stores are going out of business. I want washi tape bargains like you got. Looks like you got some other bargains, too. Hope you are finally feeling better. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

{sigh} I hate to hear about real shops closing - I know generally the owners put their heart and soul into it and the big chains undercut them...till they close and then all of a sudden the big chains hike the price as they have a monopoly. Very sad - even the tiny framers and art shop here closed and they had been around forever. Lovely work, as ever, and it has been forever since I ordered photos. Wow. You will be scrapping for days!
Happy desk-hopping day!

Good morning, BJ
Beautiful art work.
Looks like you have new toys to play with. I have a geli plate but hardly ever pull it out. I'm thinking if I cut it down to maybe 5x7 I might be able to leave it more accessible and use more often. Still in the debate state. LOL

There are lots of shops closing here as well. I quit going out much after Covid started and people have gone absolutely crazy so I just stay home...I just feel safer. Lots going on in your crafty world...thanks for sharing!

What a shame about the shop closing, so sad, I try and buy from small local shops as much as possible. You’ve got a nice haul there, have fun using them!

It's always sad to hear about craft shops shutting and so many are only selling on line now. I know of one we pass when going to see mum that has been in the same shop for years and now it's gone. Beautiful art work and look forward to seeing the Masterboard. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x11x

I got distracted 🤣. I saw your new Bible journal and wondered how much it cost, so tried looking for it (couldn’t find it). I liked the book I bought for the Psalms and had a look at the others - not that I am finished with my study yet, I am on Psalm 89. Can you tell me the name of your new Bible journal please? Your Bible art is great. I prefer physical shops, but how they can hope to compete with all the Chinese copies that flood the market. I also think it’s very difficult for them to stock all that is available.
