About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #660 - Card and Goodies

I actually made "A" card last week! Thought a desk shot of that would be more interesting than my usual empty desk.

I'd cut some shapes out the night before and the remains are still on my desk now!

Anyway, with thanks to Angela, I sourced some affordable 12x12 scrapbooks on Amazon.

Bought a couple plus refills and put some more in my "wishlist". I usually buy the cheapest as it's more about what's inside for me. I like 30 pages per album and they only come with 10.

I also bought some word dies. Always wanted the days of the week, although I'm bemused as to why they feel the need to include the abbreviated names as you can get those from the full ones with a careful snip!!

The general words are cool too, they are both a good size for scrapbook pages and they all cut well, even though "Wednesday" got bent in transit!

I used my firstcuts for a journal page...Think it still needs something but not sure what...

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #659 - Sewing

Desk saw a bit of action on Tuesday afternoon so I'm sharing that.

When I say "a bit" that's exactly that. Hubby's cycling helmet chin strap was getting tatty so we replaced it.

I have been selecting photos to print for scrapping and have managed August, September and October so far. They might yet need a slim down, but I'll do that after I've done November and December.

Running out of Scrapbook Album space and pondering what to do next as they aren't that easy to come by anymore, not the 12x12 ones I like anyway. We'll see.

So there we have it.

Would love to be "enabled" in getting some new dies and hence might get round to some card making, so will be watching out on all your desks.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

WOYWW #658 - 900th Cache

Honestly guys the desk is as last week!

Big news, I went to badminton last Thursday evening. (3 1/2 months post Carpal Tunnel Surgery) As my wrist is still sore I only intended to try the warm up but as that was OK I stayed on and ended up playing 5 games. I was quite careful how I played and there was one shot which was momentarily extremely painful, but I was OK with no ill effects afterwards either. Actually hoping it will loosen up my wrist in the long run.

Scrapped our 900th geocache find from back in July last year, it feels like longer ago than that, what with the surgery and recovery malarkey.

(really need to sort and order some more prints now!)

We are currently at 961 finds so I updated the milestone card to 1000 and have chosen Leith Hill Virtual Cache for our 1000th when we get to that point. For that we will need a sign of our caching name so I made one and laminated it too.

The tree is still up and the sunshine makes it look lovely plus I treated myself to the first daffs of the season, the hope of Spring just round the corner.

Happy WOYWW Everyone

WOYWW #657 - New Year Scrapping

Desk picture just to show you how it is most of the time if I'm not mid-crafting...

Duolingo on tablet but I do some on my desktop too.

Occupational glasses with ribbon on arm to distinguish from my usual bifocals (same frames) as I often used to get halfway down the stairs thinking my glasses needed cleaning before I'd realise I hadn't changed them round - Doh!

Purple fluffy unicorn gift from my mate. Really wanted something purple and fluffy too, so was overjoyed when I opened it. I made her a purple thank you card.

Behind the card are my hand weights. I am still having trouble with my wrist after my carpal tunnel surgery last September. I'm going to give it a few more weeks/months before making my appointment to see the surgeon again.

So to the scrapping. I combined several geocaching days as they were all part of the same circuit near Effingham, gotta love some of our place names.

The quite fussy patterned paper jumped out of my paper folder but was mostly obscured by the photos so I did some fussy cut outs. Hubby reminds me of the Jolly Green Giant!
These two pages show my hubby at a works leaving do and me at my friend's Baptism. They should be round the other way chronologically but I hadn't realised I'd put the titles down the joining sides so have swapped them round in my album.
And finally I finished this beauty in record time. Love all the colours it was quite delightful to do.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.
