About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW - #643 - Left-Handed Crafting etc.

I survived! Still pretty much one handed but learning how to do stuff bit by bit.

So this is my left-handed crafting table. Cuttlebug turned round and I can use it ok. Push the plates in with my hip whilst turning handle with left hand.

My scissors seem to work OK in my left hand and my trimmer is good as well.

Good job I'm happy with simple scrapping - photos trimmed and arranged, title and minimal embellishments.

Will write the stories/journalling when my right hand has recovered methinks.

Then there is the jigsaw desk in the conservatory. Finished that on Sunday, quite delightful.

For the record, bread, cheese and salad cut using left hand. I can steady stuff with my right but that's about it. Am typing a bit with right now - YAY.

And last but certainly not least my surgeon's handiwork with a needle and thread! My dressing was all but fallen off on Monday so I had to redress it. Bit scary but then again I did have a peak mid-procedure last week and also after the stitches were in so I was sort of prepared.

PS The one on my desk as I just stuck it....

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #642 - March 2021 in the bag.

Just doing a quick scheduled post on Monday in case I'm not feeling up to it tomorrow as that's surgery day or Wednesday for that matter...

A couple of double layouts cover March 2021.

The pinky one is a general overview of 4 different things and the yellowy one Amelia Pond.

I've also set-up my latest jigsaw, which has been pending from a The Works order some time ago. I've worked out a place in the conservatory which is working well. It will be fine until either the really cold weather sets in or we get the Christmas tree. Hmmm I wonder which will come first?

Hoping jigsaws will be a good recovery activity after the Carpal Tunnel Release surgery, which is like this... Eeeeeekkkkkk

WOYWW #641-February 2021 Done.

Thought you'd appreciate a wide angle shot of my Craft Corner with actual stuff on my desk for a change!

I was determined to get February done for this week and have just finished the two layouts currently on the hanger on the frame (top right). Previous 2 in album open on my bed.

The beginnings of March on my desk, die folder and Cuttlebug still at the ready. Trusty fan for warm nights too.

So we have my 57th Birthday. A friend popped by with a cake which was a nice surprise. Obviously had to chat outside such was the time of it. My lockdown birthday, had got away with it last year LOL.

Then Pancake day which was a few days late on the Friday. My son made the pancakes, I really don't cook anything out of the ordinary and have never made a cake in my life so was wondering where I'd use the cooking paper I'd acquired from somewhere and the freebie embellies.

Then we have the car wash. I'd waited 6 months to the day from my shoulder operation so it was a day to remember for me. Son came out and did his too, they were both pretty dirty sitting around most of last year. They've not been done since either!!

Finally my first walk trying out my birthday walking poles. Yes I'm that old! Seriously though we do go to some challenging places geocaching. Muddy, slippery, steep and overgrown etc. I only use one now as I need my phone in the other hand for finding the caches. Hubby prefers landscape photos and invariably askes me to move so I bombed one of his LOL.

This time next week I'll be post-op AGAIN. Carpal Tunnel Procedure Tuesday 21st September 2021. To add insult to injury I've done my back in again as well, so I guess resting up after surgery will help my back too. All good fun. Hope I can manage some crafting whilst recovering.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #640 - February 2021

Here's my desk. Calendar printed off to see how my recovery weeks/months will pan out. Various notes to remind me to do stuff, not least to take hubby to hospital for an eye appointment first thing and me to the dentist in the afternoon.  Plus a couple of layout/photo sets pending under the the small green mat....

All good intentions to get more of February scrapped but just the one this week. The heat has knocked me for six again!

February Flowers, Landscapes and A Mole.

We found the mole quite amusing even entertaining but our neighbours weren't so amused so apparently used some distasteful "sprinkles" to make it go elsewhere! Hmmm??!!

WOYWW #639 - January 2021 in the bag!

Yay photos arrived and I have done 3 pages to cover January 2021 already.

The new loo decorated, the Christmas jigsaw to match hair, all decorations down except conservatory real tree (it stays up till Candlemas in February) and some snow towards the end of Jan.

Some friends came to visit to return a jigsaw and show off their new car. It was the day before the next lockdown but they didn't come in anyways, we just chatted in street.

Then a collection of walking/geocaching photos for January 2021.

Just found out you can drag and drop photos in blogger again, since the upgrade. It's still a bit finicky trying to arrange them with the appropriate text.

Possibly date for my Carpal Tunnel surgery is 21st September. Been in limbo all summer waiting to hear. Hopefully I'll be able to scrap during recovery when I can't drive or lift things.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.
