About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #460 - Easter Tree

Having seen a white plastic Easter Tree in Asda a while ago and bought some decorations for one, I  shopped around for a nice one but none to be found.

So I pruned a branch from the bottom of my Silver Birch and got the Gesso out, followed last night by the Liquitex. Now I have a nice one.

Last week saw even more egg cutting out for our Easter Event as the number of children attending had risen from 80 > 130!

I went to a Ladies Day at church on Saturday and received the organza gift bag at the base of the tree.

I made a little cross from bits of the tree which were too long and that is sitting next to this month's SWAP which I received via the scenic route as the post code had been read completely wrong!

I did make up some cards though. I used the mini eggs and made one like the wreath for our Pastor's wife as a memento from the Amazing Easter Event she put on last week.

Happy Easter

and

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Well, first of all I didn't know about Easter trees but i like what I see and think `i need to go out in the garden and see what I can find. Lovely idea and I have some small eggs that I used to hang on a branch years ago - if I can find them.
Lovely cards too BJ. I love the pastel colours you used.

Hi BJ, seeing that Easter tree took me back to my year living in Germany in 85/86. Wow, working with that many children at once needs plenty of preparation and it certainly looks like your ready. Great cards with the left over bits and pieces. Happy Easter. Sarah #7

I'm now eyeing up the branches of my neighbour's rowan tree, BJ - they have potential and that is such a lovely idea. It would not surprise me to find that you are dreaming about those eggs - you've made so many! The ATC is very beautiful and your cards are very pretty too. Happy Easter. Have a wonderful week. Oh! Oh I love that tree so much! I may have to copy your idea - it would be lovely to have up all year round. No trees in my piddly garden though so I may have to wait till I see the council gardeners doing some pruning.

Have a lovely week and happy Easter to you too,
