About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #458 - Eggs-plosion!

Yep knee deep in egg diecuts this week.

They are for an Easter children's craft at church, I'd offered to help with cutting out stuff when required and just happened to have an egg die.

So I came home from church with 5 packs of 6x6 Dovecraft papers and a paper plate to make a protype based on a photo the leader (Pastor's Wife) gave me of an Easter Wreath.

This is my prototype.

I managed to fit 5 eggs per sheet and can cut 3 at a time and have cut one 48 sheet patterned pack and one 36 sheet plain pack so far. 420 of 1080 eggs cut.......... So YES knee deep.

My Easter cards are on the back burner for now. The stuff is on my desk somewhere!!! Need a bigger desk!

Bought a craft mag today too, such cutey heart dies came as the freebie, well I've not been out for 5 weeks when I bought the fairy die magazine.

I did make 3 birthday cards this past week too. Used a Kaiser Craft pad for those.

Back loads better so was busy doing stuff which accounts for the incredibly late replies from last week - Sorry.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Happy WOYWW. I will be boring and warn you to be careful with your back - all that die cutting could put you back to square one. I used to get asked to help with local craft workshops for the kids - but the reality of the work involved meant that I sensibly explained that it would be too much for me. Sad, as I would love to help. Great to see you back crafting. Ali x #12

Hi BJ, that is a lot of eggs to cut and assemble. Your prototype looks great. As Ali said, be careful that the diecutting doesn't put you back to square one with your back. Cute freebies with the mag. Have a lovely week Heather x #11

Hi Darnell, Love the Easter egg wreath and your cards.

The magazine looks good. These days I only buy the mags if the freebies are worth it.

Happy WOYWW

Cute wreath, what a nice idea. Can’t begin to think about numbers in terms of die cutting this week...probably neck deep! You want me to remind you about Mary. Do you mean the Mary whose estate sale all this cutting is for? she was a great friend and customer at my shop and subsequently the craft shops where I’ve worked as a demo, she didn’t have an online presence.

Blimey, that's a lot of eggs!! But it'll be worth it as that wreath looks fab, the kids will love making those. We enjoyed our walk around Mumbles, hadn't been for ages and quite a lot has changed. The quilt shop was small but they had some lovely stuff in there!

So glad your back it better - don't put it out again with all that die cutting! The wreath is a lovely idea and I bet the kids enjoy making it, but what a lot of hard work for you. Lovely birthday cards too.
Have a great week,

Hi BJ, I was just thinking the same as Diana said, be careful of your back with all the die cutting! Love the wreath prototype, perfect for children to manage. Feeling a little better, just have to make myself slow down some until it improves more, I think. Thanks for all the good wishes, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #3 XxX

what a great idea! I bet the kids at church are going to have a blast making their egg wreaths! I have yet to get into the spring spirit because it has been so cold here. My heating bill is almost double what last years was. Thanks for leaving your message on last weeks post. I didn't make it around to all unfortunately! I am nosey and want to know what everyone is/was up to! Vickie #34
