About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #378 - Olympics and Bibles

Strange title I know but this is just what is on my desk today.

Olympics - I was sorting out the old Radio Times to recycle and it reminded me that I was missing the Olympics so I cut out some memories and made a journal page.

My happiest moment was seeing our lads (Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis) win the Bronze in the Badminton men's doubles.

Some of you know I play badminton (socially) and run a little club but I have also been to the same club as Chris Langridge in Epsom and our local paper had this article too.

Bibles - A lady gifted me this box of Bibles and Hymnals which are too battered to pass on to a charity shop, so she wondered if I could use them for crafting.

I did give first refusal to my craft group but this raised the question of whether or not one ought to tear pages out of Bibles be they useable or not?

There are 5 Bibles, 3 Common Prayer/Hymnals and a Communion Book.

If you could let me know your thoughts on the subject and whether you are desperate for a page or two yourself (UK only), I'll see what I can do.

WOYWW #377 - Bits & Bobs & Bhs

To show I do manage to get some sun on my desk I took this yesterday late morning.

Much brighter than SAD light which is still on btw as the corner is jolly dark!

My bits and bobs tin had decided to share its contents with my desk this week, forcing me to sort, tidy and trim it down a bit.

So I made some cards and posted one already for an upcoming birthday.

Unfortunately after making the first one I got Juniper Liquid Pearls on my new Bhs t-shirt. Managed to get most of it off but there is still a slight stain.

Oh dear, and Bhs has closed for good now, I will miss that shop.
Slight glimmer of hope looking at the website link though???

So thank you bits and bobs tin for making me use some of your contents to make some cards.

And thank you Bhs for being such a great shop, you will be missed.

Happy WOYWW Everyone

PS Happy news my son did really well in his AS exams (1st year of A-levels - age 17yrs), and he's been up to Carlisle on the train alone to visit his girlfriend, but that's another story. Very proud Mummy.

WOYWW #376 - Well I Did The Ironing!

So what do you get for feeling a bit better?

You get to Vacuum and I finally actually did the Ironing!

Then last night I realised I hadn't done any crafting to show you all, so I set to work on my latest scrap pages, only to be cut short by the Men's Olympic 3m Springboard Diving Final.

So  I've nearly finished my page on my new and first ever smartphone, which was a bit of a milestone for me, the phone that is!

I took the photos of my Snake's Head Fritillary with my phone too, not bad for a phone camera.

Had to add my fairy and toadstools to that page which needs sticking now.
Can I get away with no title/words on that one I wonder?

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #375 - Serengeti Evening

Hi Folks, just to say, after nearly 6 weeks of period with only 6 days relief due to medication, the latter seems to have reset my body and things are back to normal at present - phew!

Good news for me but not such good news for crafting as I have been out Geocaching and Pokémon Going.  I got a FTF cache (First To Find) yesterday and managed to fill up my virtual Pokémon bag too!

Looking at my desk, not so good for the ironing either (much larger pile in cupboard awaits my attention, this lot didn't even make it to the cupboard!) nor the recycling reclamation (although there is a potential fairy jar in there).

I did however have a Serengeti Evening Sunday. Dare I mention I fell for yet another magazine and freebie die. I'd already set the SWAP theme of Serengeti but seeing the balloon die made me think this would work.

I've not even published the partners for the SWAP yet so hope my partner doesn't see this.

I made a journal page with all the left over bits and bobs from the card. Can you believe I'd forgotten the delights of stencils and only added that detail after the stickles! Yes I got into a bit of a mess, but hey ho I had a good inky evening.

Well I think I managed a visit and comment to all last week, but unfortunately there were a couple of Google+ participants I was unable to reply to, couldn't even find emails, such a shame.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #374 - Fairy Page Plus

Ah so what have I been up to this week?

Well I made the most of the medication for the first half of the week and got out Pokémon Going and Geocaching in the lovely sunshine.

Unfortunately for the latter part of the week I have been rendered "house bound" yet again!

For the most part I have been doing some scrapbooking, but first I needed to tidy my desk of the fairy stuff.

Then out "popped" a journal page from the bits and bobs.

Looks like I did quite a few scrap pages, with the next laid out too.

Firstly I stuck down the pages which had been languishing on my desk for the past few weeks!

Of my son learning to drive and what he did to my room on April Fool's day! Did I laugh! Shame that wasn't a Wednesday!

I was tidying up the Preschool garden on April Fool's day as my son was up to no good.

These photos are of before, during (me with big grin) and after plus a couple of months on as well.

Then there was the insect my husband photographed as it was quite unusual.

Bombylius Major, a bee-fly bee mimic.

And finally a few family moments.

Well that is me for this week.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.
