About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #373 - Fairy Jar

Inspired by yet another WOYWWer and UKPC member Cindy, I made a Fairy Jar this week.

I'd bought a fairy die earlier in the week and also used my mushroom, grass and star dies.

Here's my desk as I was covering the jar with lilac tissue. My first attempt with white tissue had gone horribly wrong so it had been scraped and washed off prior to this!

In the process I got out my glitters which hadn't seen the light of day for simply ages.

I also got out my handmade paper stash to cut out a load of flowers from my other new dies. Some for the jar decoration some for spare.

So here's the finished Fairy Jar with a battery powered LED tea-light inside.

Medical Update

I'd like to say thank you to all those who commented on my medical condition last week and the use of Norethisterone. I am nearing the end of my 10 day course which did the trick of stopping the bleeding but I don't feel that well with it and have had backaches, nausea, and feeling quite down. I'm not really looking forward to what may happen next and wish Mother Nature would take a hike as it is about time at my age.

Glad I managed my post today despite feeling rotten. I'm having a Nerve Conduction Study done on my arm this evening. The last time I had this done it was quite horrid so I hope the doctor is better at it this time.

Hope the test goes well. I saw some lovely jars on Sunday and now wish I'd bought one to have a go at the fairy jars as my granddaughters would love them. We are going to make fairies at sugar Craft class in September. Anne #16

Your fairy jar is just enchanting and what a beautiful die that is, it's perfect for the project. I am sorry you have been suffering the effects of the tablets, they do a good job but I suppose nothing comes without a price to pay. I've been thinking of you this past week and hoping you are feeling a bit better - I hope when you come off them everything goes back to normal for you - fingers crossed, and good luck with the nerve test.
Take care,
Diana xx

Hi BJ. I'm popping round way late this week. hoping the new meds do the trick and Mother Nature feels the time is near for you to just enjoy the next stage. Sorry for the nerve study issue. I just keep babying mine. Keep us posted on your progress, please.

Love the fairy light. I might need to make one of these for my sister. Creative Blessings! Kelly #36
