About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (currently a year behind!), plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #367 - Updates & Harp

Not so much to show on my desk today so thought I'd pop my little harp on there as I have been having a bit of a harp week (see below).

Other than that there is a blank card awaiting inspiration for my husband's 60th birthday.

These are the crowns we made at preschool last week.

I wore my example one for the whole session, and I helped all 23 children make their own one too.

The sunflower has grown a lot, even more since I took this photo! Must pot on the little ones.

Scrapping of the last of my birthday photos.
I used up a 12x12 paper which had a circle cut from it so filled the space with a piece of plain card which itself wasn't quite big enough and I had to gut that for the embellishments!

I also made some harp threading cards for preschool as I am taking my little harp in to show them for music week tomorrow.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 5

After my flurry of photos at the start of the hunt I have certainly slowed down for the last few.

This is all I can manage for
#07 A Family Gathering.
It is just the 3 of us having Sunday Lunch.

#16 A map showing a trip taken during the time period.

I did a bit of geocaching on Saturday, here's where I went. I found caches at the 3 smiley faces shown on the map and aerial photo, all close to the church I go to.

I did get another #13 Moon shot and spotted my Mother's Day card which deserves a mention for #03 Skeleton.

The remaining few might be a bit bothersome....

WOYWW #366 - A Mess!

What a mess!

I've been cutting out some shapes for the children to decorate their crowns as it is, "Our Queen" week as we celebrating her 90th birthday.

I even got to see her last Saturday as she drove past on her way to the races at Epsom. Queen post here.

Also, still on my desk, is the packaging from the "smart" clothes I bought my son last Wednesday for his work experience week in July. He's not had anything remotely smart since his school uniform of last year but fortunately his school shoes still fitted.

On the crafting front, I did throw a multitude of my birthday photos together, having previously "fussy cut" a lot of the butterflies out, into some sort of scrapbook page.

But really, crafting this week has be usurped by the annual Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt 2016 as you'll see if you have a nosey at my last few blog posts!

Which leaves me wish you all a Happy WOYWW

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 4

Had to go shopping today to our local Asda here in the UK so where better to get some scavenger photos. Never thought shopping could be so much fun!

#11 Fresh Produce

Went with a green theme here.

#18 A Supermarket Cart, Basket or Trolley Full of Groceries.
Three photos just to make sure you get the picture!

#15 A Team Logo

I took this photo of my work tunic logo to add to my work colleague contacts on my phone so I could distinguish them calling without my glasses on!! I have just realised that it fits a scavenger hunt item, well that was serendipitous!

#06 A Camper (Caravan)

My neighbour came home but I didn't catch it before it was parked in the garden again!

Enjoying the Scavenger Hunt again this year

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 3

Scavenger Hunt 2016 and I'm on a roll.

First up #03 A Skeleton, Bone or X-ray.

Last night's dinner of lamb chops! YUM!

Then a couple of my son's skeleton's;

a wooden T-rex and

a glow in the dark one,

although I thought it best NOT to look in the closet/cupboard - LOL.

#04 A Book Magazine Read During 2016.

I'm doing the mammoth, read The Bible in a year again, so thought that this would count.

I've reached near the end of 2 Chronicles in the Old Testament and near the end of John in the New.

#05 A Porch or Deck

Our Front Porch - sorted.

#12 A Window

Took these two at church today.

#13 The Moon

Well would you know whilst watching, "12 Years a Slave" last night on the TV what should appear but a lovely moon so I took a photo of it.

#17 Twins

Again at church today, got the permission of my friend to take a picture of her 14yr old boy twins.

Yep on a roll.

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 2

A few photos walking back from seeing The Queen

#01 A "Wild Heart" - a naturally occurring heart.

First the usual leaf on a Lilac Tree, then a Knot on a Tree.

#02 A Footprint or a Paw print.

I hope a shoe print covers this, although I did see some lichen on the same tree as the heart which looks like a paw print!

Scavenger Hunt 2016

The Flying Scotsman

Forgot to blog this from 25th May 2016.

I saw The Flying Scotsman locomotive along the line behind our church after a preschool meeting.

I only found out about it after the meeting so we all gathered on the railway bridge to watch.

This ended up being the best attended preschool social of all time!

And in a flash it was gone.

Happy 90th Your Majesty

It's Derby Day here in Epsom.

It is a special year for our Queen, she turned 90yrs earlier this year and also she is our longest reigning monarch.

With all that in mind we popped along the road to catch a glimpse of her as she drove past.

The first and last time we did this was in 2012 for her Diamond Jubilee year.

If you know the "sort of" time she'll be coming to the races you can go and stand on the street to see the entourage drive past .

The police were at the traffic light box to stop the traffic.

There were three out-riders in front of the entourage.

Also a helicopter hovering above, so you know when she's coming.

Happy Birthday Your Majesty

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 1

Horrah, the hunt is on!
Check it out here.

Yes each Summer a list is published and we are unleashed onto unsuspecting family, friends, and further afield to get photos for each item on the list. We get a little "artist's licence" with each item so it is a fun time.
Here are my first photos:-

I managed to avoid taking a photo of my husband's bike(s) but may have to get him in his team logo lycra for #15!

A headlamp bulb had gone on my car so we popped into Halfords where I took this photo of a cute little pink bike - start as I mean to go on I say!
#10 A Bike

I have just done this scrapbook page from my birthday outing back in February.

We went to RHS Wisley to see the butterflies (3 more pages pending on the trip btw)

#08 A Scrapbook Page

I just had to take a photo of myself with this month's calendar page as I like it so much. I was perched on the kitchen counter to take this!

#21 Me with a Calendar Page

I guess we usually wait until near the end to do this one but I couldn't resist.

So come on, join in the fun, take some photos and share the Summer.

Pop over to Rinda's for the list and get snapping.....
