About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #721 - Spoke Too Soon!

Spot the different!

Definitely spoke too soon last week.

First up, I mentioned something aesthetically wrong with my monitor and in trying to fix it my husband broke the screen. Now I've got a smaller screen again and blogger is well weird, as there is no text box to type in??

Thursday I hurt my back again so no badminton, but that did afford a couple of nights Bible Journaling.

I did my March page from the Bible Journaling Ministries free printable.

Then I did my #scripture52 card on the same day as the Facebook live too.

Then I did my Lent Week 5 Bible Journaling Page - Pretzels and Prayer.

Please guys be under no illusion that I "draw" these pictures myself. I trace most of them into my Bible from free printables. The Lent series is from Devotion in Action

The only debate here is, what is a Pretzel? I thought it was bread when I saw the picture, then remembered the little crisp like snacks from my childhood. Apparently it is a lenten food and is to remind us of crossing our arms in prayer. Certainly a new one on me.

Anyway I have rounded the week off nicely with yet another nasty head cold. I tested -ve for Covid yesterday but it certainly feels like what I had 6 months ago and that tested +ve. Both within days of going to the dentist too - oh my!

Have to say I feel pretty horrid but did manage my reading lesson yesterday, the positives of doing it on-line. My nose was completely blocked at the end of the half hour, I couldn't have done any more.

WOYWW#720 - Just What the Doctor Ordered.

Feeling oh so much better this week. Even danced my socks off last night (unlike last week when I came
home early)

I think the tonic I needed was the surprise visit by my son for Mother's Day. I was OVER THE MOON. And not forgetting all the prayer I have received too.

He arrived on the Saturday afternoon and left on the Sunday afternoon. A fleeting visit but so special as not seen him since Boxing Day.

I even managed to do my Lent page in my Bible whilst he was here.

And I did my #scripture52 card after he went. Super weekend.
I guess that is me, need to go shopping now. Asda in the rain - oh my!

WOYWW #719 - Still Not 100%

If this hadn't started the day before Lent, you'd think it was chocolate withdrawal!

The headaches have subsided somewhat but I'm still lacking in energy. I tried dancing last night after a months  absence but really not up to it so came home after a few dances as quite exhausted.

My husband thinks it's the weather and another drop in my hormones due to this menopause malarkey! Have to say the hot flashes and/or night sweats have come back with a vengeance lately, so he's not far off the mark, and I do suffer from SAD, hence big round light above desk that you can sometimes see in my desk photos.
Anyway looks like I will have to concentrate on crafting and doing my reading sessions all at my desk as I can cope with those quite nicely.

So to the desk....thought I'd have some breakfast for a change, I usually fast up to lunch but maybe now's not the time.

1st desk =now

2nd desk = mid scripture52 card whilst watching the online video and trying frantically to find stash to match what the presenter was using.

Week 3 of my Lent Bible Journaling watercolours was done just the day before week 4 was published.

It was on the theme of fasting and washing your face so you didn't look like you were fasting and I've just told you all I'm fasting! So I'm not quite hitting the mark with being a good Christian - oh my! Try as I might I'm still human and still fall short no matter what. Fortunately tomorrow is another day and we get to start again...

And my church all age service on the theme of money meant I got to decorate this little chap....so cute. Love their week 2 all age services.

We did "The Price is Right" quiz and our team won, hence the love hearts. Still shocked at the national debt being £2.8 Trillion though!

Oh and finally a friend who was recently inducted as a new minister in training has asked me to teach Bible Journaling for a Ladies Breakfast in June. I'm thinking about it.....Eeeeekkkk!

WOYWW #718 - Lagging Behind Somewhat

Everything was going so well then for some reason I just got mighty tired.

Kept thinking I was coming down with something but nothing has materialised thank goodness.

Still don't feel quite right though???

Anyway I'm a bit behind with the regular stuff.

Didn't go to dancing last night (again) so started off by making a birthday card for my Godmother.

I then did my Scripture52 card. I mean next week's will be on Thursday so I needed to get a wiggle on.

The 2 cards fit in the pocket on the back made with the folded back book page.

My Lent Bible painting printable is still sitting on my desk as the next thing to catch up on.

However I was compelled to do a water themed Bible page and did a waterfall, following this video on Saturday afternoon and shortly after my friend rang .....

.....and to cut a long story short I went to an Induction of a new minister in training and their church's verse is about the water flowing from God's house.

I have had 2 more reading sessions as well and spent some time researching books and activities and making powerpoints/games etc. Bit of a learning curve but getting there.

So that's me for the week.

WOYWW #717 - Happy St David's Day

Oh couldn't resist wishing you all a Happy St. David's Day, always reminds me of my school days growing up in Wales. We would have an Eisteddford in school and enter competitions with a pseudo name. Think I might have even made some Welsh Cakes then! And of course I used to have a Welsh costume too. Sigh!

Hubby bought us some Silver gifts for our wedding anniversary yesterday, we'd chosen the Hares together (my maiden name too) but the little silver Dragon was a surprise.

Oh forgetting myself, here's my desk today, Bible open at my last of 4 paintings this week. I started a weekly Lent devotional over at Devotion in Action - called Journey to Jesus.

She supplies all the printables to trace into your Bible plus a devotional which you can watch he painting on You Tube. I then followed another video devotion on Psalm 146 over at the Etched by Faith Facebook Group.
After this I just had to find something for the book of Job, which I have just finished reading. It is pretty dark so needed a focus on a positive and I found just the thing... this on You Tube by Sandy Allnock
Earlier in the week I had done my 8th week of the scripture cards too.

Oh blogger was going so well allowing photos to be placed adjacent to each other (although don't know if they will all be available in the big form as they often disappear when like this - won't know till I publish) Then it decided NOT to allow this placement and furthermore neither spacing in between text to the side of single photos! Oh my life!

Oh well hope you get the picture one way or another.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.
