About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #708 - Happy New Year

Met son's girlfriend yesterday at last, spent a lovely few hours with them in Cambridge. I sobbed when we left, such an emotional time.

Journey up was hampered with traffic jams and took nearly twice as long as it should have, coming home watching the crescent moon lying so low in the sky before it eventually set was magical.

Anyway here's my desk full of goodies...

Jigsaw and watercolour paint set from my son.

Metallic water colours, some dies and other craft essentials from my hubby.

Got some Spikenard essential oil too. The one mentioned in the Bible poured on to Jesus' feet...

Had a little play today. Inspired by a church card edge which I cut out and glued to the page then it went from there. The new paints pool lovely and dry with darker edges.

Been adding the metallic watercolour paints to my previous Bible pages and also on this Christmas Day one.

Love this scripture, "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart" Luke 2:19

Made an Angel for my son's tree as the star in the set I gave them was too big! I saw a red one in a garden centre and created my version. Had my hot glue gun out, now that's been a while.

Bought the white glitter baubles some years ago for the purpose, who knew!

Ran out of white felt so couldn't make myself one but have the other bits ready, although quite like the see-through and filled with the pieces version on my desk.

Got a Posca white pen at last. Got the other two types locally and have mixed results with those, wondering if the Posca one will prove any better.... Not holding my breath.

Happy WOYWW Everyone

and Happy New Year too

2023 here we come!

WOYWW #707 - Merry Christmas

As much as I love snow, pretty glad to see it all go especially with the sub-zero temperatures and treacherous driving conditions.

So here's a non snowy view of desk/window (What's Out Your Window Wednesday - LOL)

This week, I've Scrapped some old photos whilst awaiting delivery of the 288 new ones I chose for February to November!

Here's me around 3yrs old, and confirmation of my REAL name - had to explain it yet again this week!

I followed a craft video for a page in my mini journal.

The theme was "Joy to the world" but I made it into an affirmation for my mini book.

Fortunately had some snowy critters in my stash to use instead of buying the printable they used.

I then did a "magical" page using up bits and bobs in my stash.

Here's my latest Bible Journaling page for the 4th week of Advent plus a mini journal page too.

Again Jesus was foretold in the Old Testament, here all the way back in Numbers 24:17.

His light in my life - Psalm 27:1

Then in my journal a homage to Angels

Luke 2:10-14

And a Winter page from free printables on a FB group.

John 14:27

The non-rehearsal Nativity at church was brilliant, everyone took part in one way or another.

The different characters went up the front whilst the story was narrated. Hubby joined me the first time at church and went as a shepherd!

Just leaves me to wish you All
A Very Merry Christmas And
A Super New Year

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #706 - A prophecy told long ago.

Through the window to the snow on the roof tops today.

Journaling Bible, Journal and Mini Journal out on my desk.

Week 3 of Advent took me back to the Old Testament and the book of Isaiah  just like week 1.

I'm still amazed that the birth of Christ was foretold so many years before.

I'm really pleased that this special place in my Bible is now illustrated.

I did another page in my journal too.

I finished the Angel costume, here's the Angel on a phone!

Nativity this coming Sunday at my new church, for such a time as this....

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #705 - Christmas Stuff & Birthday...

Had a lovely couple of days with my son home and cried buckets when he left, what am I like!

Made him a Birthday card for 21st and a Christmas card for him and his girlfriend, who is coming over from Germany on 22nd. We'll get to meet her after Christmas sometime.

Desk is usual tidy state as I'm about to embark on making an angel costume for my new church's no rehearsal nativity. You just go as your favourite character and take it from there, going to take my little harp along too, good job I already have wings and a halo - LOL.

I've made a few Christmas cards. Used my new angel diecut, but in the main I have been using old cards as toppers and trying to use the peeloffs I seem to still have!

I made my mini green page into שלום - Shalom which means Peace.

And I've been back in my Bible doing water colours again.

A week late but did the Thanksgiving page, following an online video tutorial which came with the printable.

I then started the Advent series.

I painted the candle on my own as the online video tutorial isn't available yet. I didn't think I had enough confidence for this but it is OK.

I used one of the extra images and the carol music the series is based on to do a journal page too.

Sparked by my new found confidence, I jiggled with the week 2 image to make it fit my little journaling 2" margin and have started painting that one on my own too.

It needs lining out with black pen after it is dry so I did a little mini page using the carol music as the background and the tiny image as it came.

And if you have made it this far, here is my gorgeous boy before he went "home".

Happy WOYWW Everyone.
