About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #704 - Advent Messy Desk!

I think it is fair to say that even my messy desk is somewhat tidy!

There's my pink spotty journaling Bible with a printable on top which I have already traced inside, now waiting for painting. It's the Thanksgiving one but also on my desk are the 5 Advent themed printables based on carols, I've also traced the first in...

I have recreated an Advent page in my journal using the techniques of 4 pages I did back in 2012.

Hope, Preparation, Joy and Love, which are all on my old blog!

It would seem I did ATCs of all the Sundays too which are on blog posts with the meanings for each of the 4 Sundays before Christmas as well, First, Second, Third, Fourth...

This will be jolly useful as I've been delving further into the meanings and even the names and order as loads of google sites have different ones/orders. I'm going to update my journal accordingly as I find out more.

Honestly no idea what stencil I used for the original Joy page, looked everywhere, so used a different one.

The Preparation page reminded me of a stamp on tissue technique so I prepped a whole sheet of tissue with 3 different stamps.

(on desk under printables)

I have used this technique on my mini journal (size based on index cards so 3"x5").

It's sitting in front of my main A5 Journal and each of its spreads are smaller than a 1/4 of that one!

I've done 5 other double pages in that one and the front inside page.

Add to that we've got our tree and new outside lights which hubby has put up and I've decorated the house, as we always do starting on the First Sunday in Advent.

Son is coming home tomorrow for the weekend and a concert but won't be home for his Birthday/Christmas so really glad he'll get to see us decorated for Christmas, good timing.

I've done a stocking for him and his girlfriend, who we've yet to meet, but we are going to visit for the day over Christmas sometime, so that will be nice.

Just main presents to get and cards to make, oh my!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #703 - Gone Mini & Praying for Ukraine

Desk just before I go dancing (Ballroom/Latin) Tuesday night as tomorrow is my shopping week/day!

There is a list of the photos to print so far from February to August (231) Think I might need to slim that down somewhat!

My Praying for Ukraine page in my Journal. The elements were from a free printable (some things in the shop are $0 some on sale for $0 you need to look through them).

The village stencil wasn't planned, nor the barbed wire but I thought they both gave a thought to what the people of Ukraine are going through.

Loving my mini journal.

Decided to make it a little book of affirmations of "Who I am in Christ"

Did the first page from a live video on Facebook.

"I Am a Child of God"

For the second page I literally dusted off my Dyan Reaveley Spray Inks.

Forgot how strong they were so they bled through to the first page!

Still have enormous problems with white pens, tried two different ones. Oh MY!

"I Am Forgiven"

Hadn't liked my writing on the first page so after the bleed through I decided to cover it up.

Sorted

For the last page I used one of the Ukraine elements...

"I Will Not Be Forsaken"

Finished my post after dancing!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #702 - Mini Journal and more

Good morning ladies, what a fine morning it is. More so as it is my week off the Asda shop!

Since hubby retired we take it in turns to do the shop, so I guess this is my retirement day!

My Cuttlebug is being used a lot these days although mainly for its weight. (3.385 kg / 7.74g) I use it to weigh down my Bible after the water colouring to minimise the pages wrinkling.

However last night, I made a mini journal (from a facebook video) before I went dancing, so that is under there too.

A second cover paper is on the desk as well so you can get a feeling for the size.

I filled it with various papers, including book pages, music score and printed squares/dots. etc. The latter left over from the conference downloads.

Also on my desk is my usual journal with the craft items from my new church's all age service last week.

They were summing up a years worth of their monthly all age services on the Fruit of the Spirit, so just had to add them to my journal.

It was remembrance Sunday too of course.

I added remembrance poems to the poppy round the edge, and my talk notes to the page itself.

Other pages this week have been on Grace, that Jesus says, come the door is always open.

Got the little girl printable from Charlene Warwick's freebie section under the Extras tab. Trying to find free printables mainly as my bank heaps on bank charges for foreign transactions which are unproportionate to the actual cost of the printables.

And finally a water colour in my Journaling Bible. On the theme of Incandescence, based on Exodus 34 when Moses saw God on mount Sinai and returned to the people shining so radiantly that he had to hide his face with a veil.

Oh that reminds me of Chapter 31, where Bezalel and Oholiab are chosen and filled with the Spirit to do all the CRAFT work on the tabernacle, just bookmarked that one for future illustrating. Makes finding these special verses so much easier.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #701 and a jigsaw.

Desk clear as usual and not so prolific this week but still,

2 Journal pages

4 Bible pages plus

a Jigsaw.

Fussy cut elements from to pages of A4.

Nearly left the white space background but thought this stencil reflected Gentleness. Made me think of Cherry blossom in the Spring.

Oh my, this one was from a monthly video on one of my FB Bible Journaling groups. It had a free sheet of elements but I stuck to watercolours in my Bible and used the elements in my Journal.

Found it on FB late Friday night, printed the sheet, went to bed but couldn't sleep so did both in the early hours of Saturday!

Spikenard - Spike-Nard. A fragrance flower mentioned a couple of times in the Bible. It's perfume is very expensive and was used to anoint Jesus shortly before his crucifixion.

It's always fascinated me and I still have it on my wish list and no idea what it smells like.

Loved this image to mark the beginning of Proverbs as it's full of advice and direction.

The Prayer of Jabez is a little gem in the Old Testament. I did this yesterday which marked 25years since I was a born again Christian. (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)

"Jabez was more honourable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain." Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request."

And finally the jigsaw. Got a couple from the Scouts table in the foyer at church whist there to play badminton a couple of weeks ago.

Eeek didn't realise the sun was reflecting on it so much and I've put it away now, bother.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #700 - Woo Hoo 700th week of WOYWW

Oh my how many weeks? 700 that's how many weeks. What a wonderful group, love you all and big huge THANKS to Julia for keeping us all going.

I've been pushing the boat out again with my Bible Journaling.

4 more watercolours in my Bible to finish off a devotion series by Amanda Davis

Pears

Watermelon Basket

"Lead Me"

Bowl of Fruit Bonus day.

Facebook tag #diaripening.

She has loads more printables and videos on her website , I've got some ready but having a rest for now.
I finished off my Fruit of the Spirit booklet...

Kindness,

Goodness,

Faithfulness.

Gentleness

and Self-Control.

I'd run out of single colours for the last page so I used them all with a rainbow. Was thinking the Garden of Eden and the Apple and that everything we do needs Self-Control.

I used a couple more printables from the conference to do the Mother Hen Page.

The verse had come up in my Elijah Study about how Jesus longed to protect everyone but the Religious Leaders were leading people astray.

And finally a "Give Thanks" page (from another printable), that gave me a title for my Mushroom watercolour on the facing page at last.

Tracing the Mushroom I'd flipped forward 3 pages instead of 1 so I'm filling in the blanks...

Happy 700th WOYWW Everyone.
