WOYWW #617 - Amelia POND

Here's my desk with a couple of scrapbook LOs awaiting attention, and my little Lent Journal on its last week.

But you don't want to hear about that do you!

What about the pond?

Well, I dug the hole last Wednesday.

Hubby and son went off to Homebase to get be some sand to line the hole and some pebbles for around the edge.

They got 3 new fence panels whilst they were at it too.

Hubby helped me site the liner in the hole using the sand to fill in any spaces.

I filled it with Water Butt water.

Edged with some Flint and an old curb stone which were in the garden, plus the pebbles and some gravel.

Awaiting plant delivery now....

Oh and I did the jigsaw from the inside out as the edge was too confusing to start with!

Maybe I'll do some crafting next week!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

  1. Well done on the work with the pond - you must be really proud of your efforts! Are you going to put a ramp in or a grid over it to stop the hedgehogs falling in? We're trying to find a place and then a base for ours at the moment that might encourage the spikey ones to come further down the garden so we can see them without the camera! Stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #3

  3. You have more patience than I have to do that jigsaw.
Well done on the pond, that is going to look beautiful when the plants are around it. How big is it, in the first picture it looked tiny but then in the second I see it is quite a substantial size.
Maybe next week we will see some planting ...

ps I was trying to say that despite the strong magnets the quality of the polymer stamps is good. It still stuck to the lid of the Misti and lifted the paper up. Maybe you have to see it to understand LOL

  4. How wonderful that you have a new pond! Well done for digging the hole - I can't even dig a hole for my plants - we've got hard clay around here, which makes everything so much more difficult. I was promised a flowerbed this year, so we'll see! I can see why you started the puzzle from the inside - it does look quite hard! Happy Easter - hope your pond will bring you some delightful garden visitors: birds, butterflies, frogs and perhaps even some dragonflies - they love hovering on water! xx zsuzsa #22

  7. I love ponds and it doesn't matter what's in them there is something about the water, just sitting and looking into it. I have been in our pond though that was an accident and not something I want to experience again. You may find the water turns green for a while but once you get some plants in, it will sort itself out just be patient. The LO's look interesting and the jigsaw too well done at completing it. Have a lovely crafty week and hopefully some sunshine too. Hugs, Angela x21x

  8. Your pond is a lovely shape, my formed ones are oblong rather than round. That jigsaw looks very hard! Thank you for your visit, I don't post my pictures with a high resolution so if you would like a better copy of the leaf designs just send me your email. Happy WOYWW and Happy Easter. Angela #5

  9. Great looking pond BJ and an even better Doctor Who reference lol. I am sure you will get round to more crafting next week as the weather is not supposed to be great over the bank holiday (surprise, surprise). Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #9

  10. I love to see non-desk activity on WOYWW, BJ. Your pond is looking great! There's nothing like a water feature in the garden. I expect you'll soon be getting dragon flies and frogs. It will be fun selecting nice plants for it as well, and I look forward very much to seeing photos in the future of how it's developing. It's a great project.

Thank you for visiting - yes, the kitty throw is progressing nicely. It will have to be for my hubby's birthday (mid-May) now, I think - it was supposed to be for Christmas!

    Happy WOYWW,

  11. BJ, I LOVE your pond!! Super cute!!! I have always wanted a Koi or goldfish pond, but never got around to it when I had a yard. Maybe one day! LOLOL I also love your birdhouse area. I am a bird nut and have many bird feeders around my duplex. As far as your puzzle....well done because the WHOLE thing looks confusing!!! LOL Thanks for stopping in on my blog and I totally get you on the vaccination ordeal!! Thanks for the encouraging words on my watercolor cards!! And, good luck with yours! Blessings and Happy Easter, Felicia #25

  12. Great job on the pond! I always thought I wanted one but then think about trying to dig into this Missouri rock bed to put one... not going to happen lol
Look forward to seeing the addition of the plants and close ups of the scrapbook page.

As to your 'missing plot' on my blog, I spent 4 days at a hotel last week working on plotting out my next novel. I got home Sunday. Bob left yesterday for his 21 days on a river boat in Chicago. I'm alone for the next 21 days to write without interruption except for the creative day job and house stuff.

  18. What an accomplishment, you must be pleased every time you look at the pond! Hard work, but definitely a preferable option to the fencing job! I hope it brings you a lot of pleasure. Love the multicoloured hearts on your LO, very appropriate for the title anyway, but they do look lovely.

  19. HI BJ! I've always wanted a pond! Such a lot of work but totally worth it! Mine would have to have a waterfall of some sort though. Are you going to have fish? Your garden looks beautiful! And you with no coat on! Still too cold for that here. We have been working on a puzzle sporadically for 2 years now, barely have the outside edge done. I like your idea, maybe we'll try that. Have fun with your pond! Thanks for your earlier visit, sorry I'm so late, have a great rest of the week! Lindart #28

  20. Oh what fun, a pond! It isn't that easy to fit those moulded ones either so well done you. Hope you get some frogspawn next year, sadly all our frogs seem to have disappeared, haven't had any for 2 years. Happy Easter! Have a good week, stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy xx #23
