WOYWW #369 - Double Entendre

Hello all you "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday" folk.

Here's my "craftcorner" and my desk is all tidy with my next set of photos to be scrapped waiting inspiration.

I just received my latest order of 150 prints covering March to most of June, so that will keep me busy. A bit like woman's work and all that, never being done.....

I did manage a couple of pages this past week though.

In my latest order of prints I got the one I forgot from the last batch, namely the main one of my son playing the drums at the Scout Carol Concert last Christmas.

So that is at last scrapped!

I also scrapped my 18th wedding anniversary. We went to visit the church we got married in, so I was able to pop a couple of the original photos on the page too.

I didn't start scrapping until  about 2005 and then I only went back to when I got my first digital camera in December 2003. So it was a great excuse to scrap some wedding photos from 1998.

So onto the "Double Entendre", and that would be,

What's Out Your Window Wednesday!

After a couple of false starts with no parking signs, last week and yesterday, they finally came and "Surface Dressed" our road.

Not that it in any way needed it at all having only been done properly back in August 2009.

But the Council is a law unto itself despite other local roads with mega potholes which really need seeing to!

So there we have it, "what's on my desk" and "what's out my window".

I guess that is the excitement over for the day, back to the housework or was that scrapping..........

Happy WOYWW everyone.

WOYWW #368 - Preschool Taketh Over!

Morning Everyone and welcome to my desk on WOYWW. I'd wondered whether I'd have tidied it up by now but obviously not.

It's mini beast week at preschool and I am knee high in ladybird preparation for tomorrow's session.

Here's the ladybird, I'll be adding the antennae at preschool as I don't have any craft matchsticks at home.

I'm also covering on Friday so will be doing spiders' webs then. Here's the spider on their web.

I made a job lot of pom-poms for the spiders and lined up they look like a millipede!

Amazingly enough amongst the mayhem I made my SWAP card on the theme of "Sunshine". I based it on a tag I'd received many moons ago.

I made a 60th card for my husband too but ......

Talking of Moons.

Here's my photo of the Strawberry Full Moon taken on our Summer Solstice (20th June 2016).

This hasn't happened since 1947 and won't again coincide until 2062, a rare occasion.

Happy WOYWW everyone, and especially to those who always comment on my blog but to which I am unable to respond due to the Google+ malarkey. If only you had an email I could write back on, that would help.

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 7

Got my friend #20 Someone Laughing at church today.

Rather ironic as it is Father's Day today and I was a mess (see previous log) sobbing my eyes out and then laughing as they weren't even playing "Amazing Grace" which is the usual one to set me off as it was the song I chose for Dad's funeral.

For those following along with the Scavenger Hunt this is the Mum of the #17 Twins I posted in Part 3.

Oh and for the record here is my husband in his work logo lycra. #15 A Team Logo.

Just those pesky #14 Food and #19 Drink items to go now!!!

I might be better off with a Baby Lighthouse - LOL

They say...

... you pick a mate not unlike you father.

Well whilst going through my photo's for my last post I came across these

Firstly one of my Dad holding my bouquet just BEFORE I got married.

And THIS one of my husband holding my bouquet AFTER we got married!

What a pair!

My Dad

To mark the anniversary of losing my Dad, I light a candle at the local Catholic Church and ponder a while in their Garden of Remembrance.

This yearly vigil began when my son was in the Montessori Preschool in the church hall there back in 2002.

My Dad passed away a couple of years before this in 1998, soon after giving me away in marriage.

Here are a few photos of my Dad and me.

I look about 1yr in this one so probably 1965.

At my graduation in 1987.

Walking me down the Aisle in February 1998.

Poignant for a number of reasons as this was the last time I saw him before he died. Well we did pop in on our way back from our honeymoon, so that was definitely the last time. We had a cup of tea and a Kit-Kat and I thanked him for a wonderful speech at our wedding and hugged him too. Love you Dad xxx.

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 6

Not getting very far with the last 4 items left on my list (09; 14; 19; 20 plus the 2 alternatives).

Slightly missed an opportunity of a selfie when we had a downpour yesterday although you can just about see my reflection in the window when I got this shot of the rain in a puddle.

#09 Someone playing with, in or around water.

I was playing there honest!

I'm totally entranced by #13 The Moon these days and it is "nearly" full here now.

Here is my initial crescent photo a few weeks ago.

Also yesterday evening nearly full lingering over the fields after the downpour.

Then today I captured a photo from NASA TV of the Soyuz Spacecraft undocking from the International Space Station (ISS) as our astronaut Tim Peake returns to earth.

As for the last items, food and drink will always be a problem for me. And someone laughing, well you just have to be ready to capture the moment, don't you?

The Scavenger Hunt lasts until September, why not join in too.

WOYWW #367 - Updates & Harp

Not so much to show on my desk today so thought I'd pop my little harp on there as I have been having a bit of a harp week (see below).

Other than that there is a blank card awaiting inspiration for my husband's 60th birthday.

These are the crowns we made at preschool last week.

I wore my example one for the whole session, and I helped all 23 children make their own one too.

The sunflower has grown a lot, even more since I took this photo! Must pot on the little ones.

Scrapping of the last of my birthday photos.
I used up a 12x12 paper which had a circle cut from it so filled the space with a piece of plain card which itself wasn't quite big enough and I had to gut that for the embellishments!

I also made some harp threading cards for preschool as I am taking my little harp in to show them for music week tomorrow.

Happy WOYWW everyone.

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 5

After my flurry of photos at the start of the hunt I have certainly slowed down for the last few.

This is all I can manage for
#07 A Family Gathering.
It is just the 3 of us having Sunday Lunch.

#16 A map showing a trip taken during the time period.

I did a bit of geocaching on Saturday, here's where I went. I found caches at the 3 smiley faces shown on the map and aerial photo, all close to the church I go to.

I did get another #13 Moon shot and spotted my Mother's Day card which deserves a mention for #03 Skeleton.

The remaining few might be a bit bothersome....

WOYWW #366 - A Mess!

What a mess!

I've been cutting out some shapes for the children to decorate their crowns as it is, "Our Queen" week as we celebrating her 90th birthday.

I even got to see her last Saturday as she drove past on her way to the races at Epsom. Queen post here.

Also, still on my desk, is the packaging from the "smart" clothes I bought my son last Wednesday for his work experience week in July. He's not had anything remotely smart since his school uniform of last year but fortunately his school shoes still fitted.

On the crafting front, I did throw a multitude of my birthday photos together, having previously "fussy cut" a lot of the butterflies out, into some sort of scrapbook page.

But really, crafting this week has be usurped by the annual Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt 2016 as you'll see if you have a nosey at my last few blog posts!

Which leaves me wish you all a Happy WOYWW

Scavenger Hunt 2016 : Part 4

Had to go shopping today to our local Asda here in the UK so where better to get some scavenger photos. Never thought shopping could be so much fun!

#11 Fresh Produce

Went with a green theme here.

#18 A Supermarket Cart, Basket or Trolley Full of Groceries.
Three photos just to make sure you get the picture!

#15 A Team Logo

I took this photo of my work tunic logo to add to my work colleague contacts on my phone so I could distinguish them calling without my glasses on!! I have just realised that it fits a scavenger hunt item, well that was serendipitous!

#06 A Camper (Caravan)

My neighbour came home but I didn't catch it before it was parked in the garden again!

Enjoying the Scavenger Hunt again this year
