About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog.I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary, plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #874 - Hand Update

Wide angle of the desk today as not much on it to see specifically.

Not much scrapping done in the past 3 weeks as the latest is still up on my wall hanger.

It is now 3 months since my left hand operation. It's still a bit sore and I can't put my weight on it yet or press down glued items but it's almost sorted. Here's my right for comparison.

(Right was done in Sept 2021).

Also the fridge white board marking off the massage days etc - have rubbed that off now - yippee - although I will still massage when I put hand cream on.

Saturday was our 28th "Orchid" Wedding Anniversary so we went to RHS Wisley to see the orchids.

It was pretty cold out but the glass house was a great refuge after our glasses de-steamed! The lego heart was a good photo opportunity.

Bought an orchid too.

I replicated a couple more watercolours for my little book and added the hearts page too.

I also had a "play" in my concertina journal which I'd made for the BB Bash a few weeks ago. On the back side I had just stuck various odd diecuts and bits and bobs and added spare paint after I had done other things. I started on the right hand side  and worked to the left - no idea why.

I started with a little house page and after I fussy cut my blob flowers I did a page with those.

I then set up a page in my writing journal with various bits and bobs so I can get back to scripture writing.

I painted the waste from the fussy cutting flowers, also trying out my new Payne's Grey watercolour paint.

So that's me for this week.

Happy WOYWW Everyone

I’m glad your hand has healed so well, it certainly hadn’t stopped your flow! I do enjoy seeing your watercolours, it’s good just to doodle without a purpose sometimes. I use Paynes Grey an awful lot in my art too.

I am very glad your hand has healed so well. Your little houses are so cute. Your Scripture book is exactly the inspiration I need for my next book. I was thinking of using watercolour to add some colour to the pages, but was worried about the paper buckling. Your stencil work is a much better idea. Happy WOYWW. Angela #7

Hi BJ, no, soft pastels, sometimes known as chalk pastels are opaque, unlike watercolour. I have some by Faber Cantrell which are rather hard, and some SAA branded ones which I won as a prize. The best are softer and are by Unison or Sennelier.
I hope that helps, Lynnecrafts xx

Sorry I'm so late - like my card!! Glad you like it. Hand is looking good, soon be 100% I'm sure. You saying you started your page from the right has really set me thinking - I'm pretty sure I always work left to right. Wonder what that says about me (apart from I'm very Right hand dominated). See ya Wednesday!! Cindyxx
