About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog.I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary, plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #853 - Trees

Still warm but signs of Autumn are upon us - beautiful coloured leaves and lots of fungi.

A little bit more productive this week despite having son home with all his goods and chattels (minus furniture) and the mountains of washing!

Some mushrooms on my desk.

All made from left over watercolour paints and on the back of pieces I didn't like!

Waste not..

I need to do a few more before I can make a PDF sheet to share.

Hanging from my shelves is my latest Jonah page.

Behind my chair is my JOTW October challenge page using the prompts.

Wings, Pink, Movement, Soft and a Scripture.

I chose Psalm 17:8 Hide me in the shadow of your wings.

And to get the the Trees title.

I have been studying Abraham and was taken by the references to trees, often used a landmarks and having spiritual significance too.

I used magazine pictures of trees in my journal and paint around them.

Desperate to fit a tree in my actual Bible, I managed one in the centre fold as both edge margins were already taken.

Finally I have made a tag for my Harvest bag for this Sunday's service, which will be my last church service for a while as the operation is next week.

I used up bits and bobs I already had around/cut etc.

So yes a little more productive this week.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

the mushrooms are fab! well done on getting so much done, especially as you'll be out of action a while. I hope your son is doing his own washing while he is home! Happy WOYWW Helen #3 (the first one is a wrong link to an old desk)

I love the use-it-up vibe today! The mushroom paintings are really sweet and really sum up autumn. The tags is fab too, how brilliant you made it from scraps, that makes it even better! Good luck with the op next week, hope it goes smoothly.
And I didn’t fold in the green felt triangles before snipping, just did each point separately but it really doesn’t take long and works well.

I'm with Helen, you must make sure your son does his bit, you've got plenty going on at the moment. Love the fungi and look forward to seeing how you use them. I must find a way to use up some old paint too, I've too much going to waste. Happy woyww creating. Hugs Angela x11x

Thank you for telling me about the link, I have changed it. Great pictures today and I shall have to look up those trees in the Bible. Are you doing the Revelation study in Embracing God’s Word? It ties in with my Ezekiel study.
I took a screenshot of Tiffany Sharpe’s toadstools as I wanted to have a go. Today I saw she is doing the lesson in the Fairy Tales taster sessions. I haven’t watched any yet! Hugs Angela

I really love the colours you’ve used for the mushrooms. You have my full sympathy with all the pile of extra washing…our son has been living back home for a year now with his two children every other weekend, his dog and now his girlfriend and her two large dogs!! All being well he moves into his new home soon so our lives will be much quieter 😀
Hugs,

Funnily enough while having a big tidy up and sorting, I found a scrap with your last freebies, just a few red flowers I think, cause I used all the rest of the already. So I'm ready for more :D My son had a bad habit of picking an item, trying it on, then tossing it in the basket rather than hanging it up again. Boys. The tree is really amazing, and good luck with the op.
A little late, but Happy WOYWW anyway!

Beautiful tag! It's amazing what we can do with bits and pieces lying around! I ❤️your mushrooms! Tiffany Sharpe is giving a tutorial on them, but they seem pretty easy. I'm going to try some! Love the trees too, great job with the collage! Lindart #15
