About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #807 - Textile Retreat

I started a freebie textile retreat on Monday. It's called "Making Zen".

It's got me back into sewing just as my left hand has started tingling again after the Steroid injection back in June! Typical, but have managed to get an appointment to look at my hand for 23rd Dec!

The journal continues...

Days 13 & 14 the mop up sheets were essentially red and white. I added some images, extra marks and some words.

Day 15 & 16 brought me to the end of the first side of my concertina journal. I loved the mop up sheet colours on the right so actually got my paints out and replicated the colours on the left. I used magazine images and words for these.

Devotion in Action dropped a devotion for November.

It's about singing praises to the LORD.

My Psalms pages are filling up so couldn't use Psalm 149 so my watercolour is on Psalm 47. Psalm 33 was an option too but as it mentions a harp I really ought to do a harp page....Not played in ages though.

Days 17 & 18 were preceded by the back Cover. I used a piece of a tissue box as I love the design.  I doodled some of the design elements myself and used this for Day 17.

So to Day 18 and my first textile piece which is a "Calico Cottage", so cute, will certainly have to make more of those.

The tin and box on my desk have my bits of fabric and embroidery floss in them, plus my craft notebook as I'm on the free pass.

Here's my start on Christmas! I got the little basket, lace mat & reindeer, from the Scout Christmas fair.

Then Asda had the "Elizabeth Tower" ornaments in again and as I'd procrastinated too long last year and missed out I grabbed one plus the little embroidery hoop too.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Well dang. Sorry to hear your hand is a tingle again. That stinks. Hope the Drs. can be of help. I know how awful it is to have Christmas when you are feeling physically diminished. I hate it. But, hey, at least we are here, right? :D. Your calico cottage is super cute, and I love your beginnings. We need to plan the tree set-up soon. I think time has gotten away from me a bit!
It's WOYWW day!

Took me ages to get your comment box up. Strange behaviour this morning.
Lots of gorgeous pages on your desk today, I don't know how you manage to produce so many. You must be a fast worker. Of course the Bible page has to be my favourite. That musical cameo is so beautiful and sits perfectly on the page.

Your journal pages are lovely as usual but it’s the cute little fabric cottage that caught my eye, that is really lovely, you did a great job there! Love your new Christmas bargains as well!

Love seeing a peek into your Making Zen projects! I grabbed the VIP pass as I simple don't have the time at the minute, so my bestie and I are going to work through a class a week together next year. You are making me wish I had time though! Love your Bible page too, I'm about to settle in for some bible catch up after travelling and missing a couple of days on my current journaling plan. Happy WOYWW! Rachel #17

Lovely journal pages! I love using undersheets as fodder in my collages. Nice start on Christmas! I haven't got that far yet! Tingling is not fun. I remember when I had carpel tunnel and it got so bad that I couldn't hold a pen to write🙁Thankfully it's gone now! Have a great week, Lindart #14
