Here we are again, doesn't the time fly round quick! Desk is in it's usual state of tidiness, you'd never think I did anything there would you? The main thing on my desk are my last 4 pairs of glasses as I go for my eye test this morning. I need to sort out what I need next.
There's a little "Books of the Bible" card behind the lamp on the wall, so I can record where I have got to. Taking it easy as I started in January LAST year and going through each book slowly this time. I think a lot can be lost trying to read it all in a year which I have done a few times before.
So there's the Bible Scripture card for the week. So loving doing these each week, using us all sorts of stash. I've saved some purple stuff from church last week (ticker tape, party popper) for this coming weeks collage.
A friend gave me a Easter wreath kit of a wire circle and a bag of ribbons. I couldn't resist doing a rainbow effect.
Think it needs some work still, although might make it into a Christmas one, who knows.
So to the painting...
First the the Lent study had a final bonus image for Easter Sunday, a bunny with big ears. Not my cup of tea really but I did is anyways as it's message was good despite the cartoon image.
Second, I gave the garden mushrooms, which had become might tatty, a lick of paint and a new look.
Then a couple of Bible Journaling watercolours which caught my eye on groups I follow.
I did the Good Friday - Crown of Thorns/King's Crown - Resurrection Sunday first. I was fortunate enough that the associated verses were on the same spread.
I did the Maundy Thursday second.
Hoping to get back to my scrapbooking one day....
Hi BJ, I love all the Bible images you've done you are very talented and thinking up the ideas. The Crown of thorns is gorgeous. Have a lovely and creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x7x
ReplyDeleteGood Friday and Maundy Thursday are beautifully illustrated and the little rabbit is fitting. Don't be too harsh on yourself. Your Bible cards are so pretty and must be so rewarding to make.
ReplyDeleteLove the refurbished mushrooms, where do they reside?
Hugs, Neet 2 xx
Loving your latest projects BJ, especially the bible journaling. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #11
ReplyDeleteNice job of refurbing the mushrooms, I hope you have them in a fairy ring in the garden! Lovely painting of the bible pages too and I agree, don’t be too hard on yourself, enjoying the process is the important bit!

I love those cards and the bible paintings and the mushrooms look lovely! Enjoy your day, hug from Holland. Marit #12
ReplyDeleteYou're keeping busy ! Love the mushrooms and your bible journalling . Happy woyww Helen #1
ReplyDeleteI’m not big into ‘cute’ but actually, I think the big eyed rabbit is great in your bible…illustrative for the text and approachable, I like it. Am amazed that you’re lacking inspiration for scrapbooking, perhaps your enjoyment of the scripture cards and the bible journaling is all you need creatively. I will post my scrapbook pages, but not on Wednesdays unless they happen to be on my desk. I think your wreath is lovely…love the rainbow idea. I would cut the ribbon lengths in half so that there’s double the amount and then the length wouldn’t make them flop a bit. Love it and will cheerfully add that to my list of things to copy!
ReplyDeleteYour mushrooms are interesting, what are they made with? Great Bible journaling this week. Lovely paintings. Happy WOYWW Angela. #15
ReplyDeleteLovely journaling bits this week BJ. I likw your curved edge desk - that's got me thinking lol!! Love the mushrooms too, you did a good job. Lots of my quirky garden stuff is looking a bit tatty, some of it may have to be retired next year if I can't repair it. Have a good week love n hugs Cindy xx #9
