WOYWW #691 - Blessings

My desk is adorned with the gifts a friend brought round on Monday. The unicorn came in the box with a card from another friend and my crafty friend brought me all the papers now stuffed in the "unicorn" box, plus the Flip'a'Mallows plush.

I seem to be having a hard time at church at the moment, too hot in their building and can't seem to find a connect group with a space so have been quite down of late. The crafty visit and goodies was to cheer me up. So blessed.

I made a couple of cards last week on a crafty call with the same friend.

I used up some more of the diecuts I'd cut from my recent bargain purchases.

I have also made a double layout starting with this years photos at last. 2022 here we come.

Can anyone remember how muddy the beginning of the year was - I mean super muddy, it really was something else.

Nearly didn't make it rounds the lake, others had turned round and come back past us saying it was impassable but we persevered.

The only other thing I did this week was dye my hair again. So need colour in my life. Oh and the nasturtium seeds did so well this year.

WOYWW #690 - Eskimo Kisses

The first paper to bless my eyes when opening parcel #2 was the Basic Grey "Dearly" page from their Eskimo Kisses Range

The Bambi was so cute so the thought of covering with photos was out of the question. So I used the reverse side as the backing and fussy cut the features out of the front side. Fortunately I had a few of this paper which enabled this.

I think I managed to cut enough out of this paper don't you?

I also used some of the lace from the same parcel. Kaiser Craft is another supplier I love as well as Basic Grey.

I used a couple of my new dies to finish off.

The page is a little self indulgent but I think I needed that after the debacle with my Mother last week!

Not done much else this week except find a home for my new snowman diecut on a January 2021 page - last time we had snow methinks. I stamped the sentiment which came with the dies there too.

I showed one friend what adhesives I use, and what type of scrapbooks too.

And pondered how to make a faith based birthday card with another friend? Not sure crosses can be used for birthdays? More associated with sympathy and Easter really. I have some scripture stamps so I stamped some of those for her to use.

I did raid Sainsburys and bought some new clothes. A couple of loose skirts which will be good for ballroom dancing and some strappy tops as I continue to be HOT HOT HOT and some socks.

Wondering if I might have some other medical condition other than standard menopause heat and hot flashes. Who knows?

Anyway most of the items were half price so that was good news.

WOYWW #689 - Parcel #3

Can't resist a bargain, so took lots of dies off Tracey's hands in Kraft Crazy's closing down sale.

They arrived a day earlier than expected which was a double blessing as moments later my estranged Mother phoned to tell me she was disinheriting me. I mean she disowned me for the umpteenth time in December 2019 so really not sure why she bothered with this call now, other than to upset me. Fortunately I bounced back and played with all my dies until the early hours.

Tracey sent me 3 old issues of Die-cutting essentials and an extra Quickutz journaling die as a bonus! Oh lucky me.

Might be tempted to make a waterfall card now...or the basket or even a pocket, who knows.

Anyway after a play, cutting them all out, I got to work as I'd earmarked the presents and candle dies for my son's Birthday page.

Bit of a homage to Quickutz that one.

Used two new papers which I'd actually chosen for the reverse - LOL.

The paper's name is PEACE, and I'd like to think I was being sent such from on high.

Next came Christmas itself. More Presents die and new Bauble die, plus all the new Christmas word dies I got in various sets. Snuck a tiny robin in too.

Then New Clothes to close out to 2021. Here I used the new torn notepaper die and tabs. This is a Basic Grey paper I wouldn't normally have chosen but works well for a boy page.

So to my desk....LOL... thought I'd forgotten didn't you.

The Basic Grey paper which was on the top of my bundle last week, is from the Eskimo Kisses collection. I love the Bambi page but with all my photos it gets lost so I think some fussy cutting is required and the reverse of the paper actually used for the backing. I've got some photos of myself so it's going to be a bit self indulgent.

WOYWW #688 - Parcel #2

Oh my life I'm in heaven. I received my second parcel from Kraft Crazy Saturday and after layers of packing tape and duck tape I finally got to the contents of my TWO PIZZA BOXES.

I'm a scrapper of all our family day to day photos so 12x12 papers are the order of the day.

I'd already bagged a 12x12 pad some A4 card, envelopes, a cropping pad, a die and bits and pieces, when the single 12x12 papers were loaded onto the site.....

Whilst paying for Parcel #1 over the phone I'd mentioned I loved "Basic Grey" papers so I got a bargain offer of ALL the "Basic Grey" papers from the shop. I did ponder this over dinner but even hubby said "Go For It". Plus I chose over 70 other designs too.

Parcel came in at just under 5kg - Phew.

Anyway made my first pair of layouts using two of the Basic Grey papers. I felt able to cut into a third for the die cut elements which is the beauty of multiple papers of the same design and/or collection.

I wrote on the back of one of these pages to remember what they are called and where I'd got them from and the date made. Really special.

Parcel #3 is mainly dies and I've already earmarked some for use on my next pages....

Such a blessing.

WOYWW #687 - Geocaching : Hide & Finds

Yup desk is rather devoid of actual crafting this week. All I can show for it is the next set of photos on cardboard sheets ready for inspiration.

I am awaiting 5kg of papers and cardstock from Kraft Crazy. The shop closes on Saturday so the last few crazy bargains are on her Facebook page. I have already started my 3rd parcel - oops.

I paid for parcel 2 over the phone whilst sitting on a log in the woods when we were out geocaching yesterday. We did a 3 mile route around Telegraph Hill - Claygate, Surrey. It was very hot out of the woods.

Here's hubby leaning on one of the street finds yesterday. You'll never guess where the logbook was! Staring you right in the face, magnetised to the box side. Done one like this before so I went straight to it, so funny.

Desk also has a couple of trinkets I swapped in caches yesterday. A blue marble and turquoise butterfly. I love trinkets.

Plus my workout/exercise sheet. It's been hard going but I have remembered to do them for a whole week now.

We have also set up a new geocache in our local church this week and I have been in communication with the vicar getting permission. Got the final go ahead via email whilst sitting on the same log in the woods yesterday. Aren't mobile phones amazing.

You might have spotted our BIG fan too. I have to have 2 going all night as I am still struggling with the heat. This one brings in what little coolness there is from outside. I leave my bedroom door open too and that helps the heat escape, never thought I'd be looking forward to Autumn so much....

Happy WOYWW Everyone.
