WOYWW#651 - Heavenly Host

Not much has changed from last week other than the paperclipped pages of my Hebrew have moved into an A4 File as they were getting out of control. I've very nearly mastered the Hebrew consonant Aleph-Bet and decided not to move on until I'm more proficient at that.

Hand/wrist, plus arm exercises continue. My Hand Therapist is happy that I'm progressing but I'm not to try badminton for at least another 4 weeks, as my wrist continues to hold me back with it's unusual presentation post-op.

Saying that, I've raked the garden leaves, cleaned some windows, vacuumed the house, put the bins out, trimmed my orchids, used my sewing machine, ironed a few things, driven to church and made dinner so realistically I am nearly back to normal. Wrist is sore still and I've had some sharp pains in my thumb but all in all not bad at all.

So to the ANGELS.

I think the crochet is jolly good gently exercise for my wrist and goes some way to stop me munching whilst watching TV of an evening! I've now done 10 Angels and they have been gathering around the fireplace (except the blue one which my son has).

I have done a gold one but the yarn is difficult and I prefer the white ones. Not sure how many more I'll get out of the single ball of fine white yarn I have. I did have a look at my stash but not any more to be found as yet. I have white DK yarn but I guess they would turn out slightly bigger. Hmmm???

Maybe I'll do some scrapping next week, maybe not. But either way I need to order some more photos as I'm near the end of the last batch.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

  1. Glad your recovery is on track to your therapist's satisfaction! you seem to be able to do a lot of things again which is great news.
I love your angels!! the gold one looks beautiful, but I can imagine that the yarn would be harder to work with - typical, that!! Have a good WOYWW Helen #3

  2. Love those angels! I make small stars at this time of the year to add to my baby blankets for those born on Christmas day . . . . but I like the angels.
It's good to be back to almost normal usage of your hand again isn't it, bet you're just like me and it can't heal quick enough!!
    Enjoy the week

  3. Good news about your hand, it’s such bad luck that your wrist is bad, I wonder if it would have shown up as a problem if you hadn’t had the Carpal tunnel fixed. Nevertheless, really glad to hear that things are returning to ‘normal’ for you. Good on you for finishing that huge batch of photos, I must say that you’re very disciplined…I order a load and even then I end up picking and choosing from them! You’re clearly enjoying the Hebrew, am very pleased for you, and what an accomplishment!

  5. Hi BJ, I know you've found your recovery frustratingly slow but it's reassuring that you are managing to do so much more now. As you say, almost normal. Your little angels are so sweet - a chain of them would make a very pretty Christmas decoration for the mantelpiece. Working with wool, knitting or crochet, is limited these days. Yarn of any kind is too tantalising to a certain kitten. Enjoy the scrapping and have a great WOYWW. Elizabeth x #6

  6. Love your angels and glad to hear you are almost back to normal. My daughter is still suffering and they have now ruled out carpel tunnel, so we are waiting for the next step. Well done with the Hebrew. Happy WOYWW Angela #11

  7. Lovely angels! Don't put too much strain on your wrists just yet - badminton aside, it sounds like you're pretty much back to normal, so that's gotta be good news! Upwards and onwards! Have a lovely week! xx zsuzsa #20

  9. Good news that you’re recovering well. The tendons in that area are quite sensitive so pacing yourself is important. Your angels are lovely.
    Take care and happy WOYWW

  10. So pleased that you've got over the worst of your recovery and your therapist is pleased. It takes time I guess. I prefer the white Angel's too. I often think I should try to crochet for in front of the tv but then I think, nah, just more stuff I would want!! (We won't talk about all the felting stuff bought for the same reason). Happy WOYWW, have a great week, stay safe stay well, love n hugs Cindyxx #19

  11. Love the angels and I am so pleased that the therapist is pleased with you and progress is being made. I am so impressed with you learning Hebrew... I've been a Christian all my life and just cannot get to grips with the Hebrew or the ancient Greek! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#13)
