UFO stands for Unfinished Object and my dining chairs have been crying out to be recovered for a while now. I'd washed the fabric I was going to use weeks ago so I just needed the push to actually get on and do it and Julia's UFO challenge for the 11th Anniversary was just what I needed.
So I exchanged my craft and sewing boxes for my upholstery tool box and did some hammering!
So that's me - a bit of upholstery
Morning BJ. Happy 11th anniversary. Well done on the UFO - fantastic job - the chairs look great - and really comfy.
ReplyDeleteTake care. Stay safe. God bless.

Wow BJ. That was one UFO undertaking. Most impressive. You did a great job recovering these chairs. It looks like they needed it after enlarging the photos. Great finished project. Happy WOYWW from # 6.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a great bit of UFO-ing, BJ! What a fantastic job you have done with the chairs. It’s so satisfying bringing new life to worn out old favourites, isn’t it. They will give good service for years to come now, I am sure.

It's ages since I've done a bit of seat upholstery - such a satisfying job when all finished and yours look lovely. Happy bloggyversary. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteHappy 11th Anniversary WOYWW. Well done for getting your UFO completed. Sometimes I think that I could redo the seats on our old dining room chairs, as I hate the fabric (chosen by hubby's 1st wife!!). Then, I remember that I have never done any upholstery before and it would be a lot easier to just buy new chairs! Ali x #18
ReplyDeleteWell done on the chairs I like you purchased some from a second hand shop and recovered them, once, twice and three times. Very satisfying. Thank you for your friendship over the years. Ani #1

Hi BJ, thats a fab UFO project you completed. The chairs look amazing, and will last a good while now. It's sad so many people will just throw away something that just requires a bit of learning, and a bit of work to sort out.Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #12 X

ReplyDeleteAh brilliant BJ, I remember doing that for a dear friend in 1980s and used a wonderful floral rose, ŕeally spruced up your chairs too.
