WOYWW #900 - Trees all but GONE!

I've decided to finish my first living line yesterday 1st September. I started it on 31st May. I thought it fitting to have the tree on the outside when rolled up.

The last 3 panels are a local wildlife field, the Horse Chestnut soon to be felled and a plant I have seen everywhere alone the streets despite the drought. 

There was NO saving of the trees, all approved to be felled by the council, TPO or not. 

Spoken to 2 Tree Officers and the Rights of Way local assistant and no one seems to care much about anything these days it's a very sad state of affairs.

Still no communication from Shanly, a blatant disregard for local residents.

Total chaos here yesterday. Crane and articulated lorry with the roof for next door but they didn't think to get a car moved beforehand! 

They got hold of the keys and a builder moved it eventually.

Half the trees on the footpath felled without closing the footpath, nightmare for all but the most agile (I walked along about 4 times and they had to stop each time!).

Absolutely shattered and son coming for visit, not sure I can cope. 

I was supposed to be doing an online thingy this week too but totally lost the plot these days.


As for my first "00" post that was for #200 on 3rd April 2013, having joined in first a year before that at #145 on 14th March 2012.

My 200th post just happened to be when I first met up with our Helen. All the best for your operation Helen whenever it is....

    Happy 900th WOYWW! You have been going for a long time on the blogs, it was fun to see your original table. I do love the tree you’ve done on the end of your living line, very appropriate seeing how you’ve done your best to save the local trees, so sad that they’re all going.

    Oh, BJ, I think you know how I feel about the felling of all those trees - it's criminal. I wonder if the developers have plans to plant replacement trees once the houses are up and finished. Your finished embroidery is stunning. The flowers in the photo look very much like the Evening Primroses that are growing by the railway station near me.     It's so sad that you were not able to save those trees. It seems like we are witnessing a major wave of disregard for nature around the world these days. People are focusing on making money, their power, and having control, instead of the well being of others and of being good stewards of God's creation. However, I admire your courage to speak up, and your diligence to do all you could possibly do to stop. Anyway, that tree you embroidered to finish your living line is gorgeous, as well as a glorious tribute. Happy 900th WOYWW post, and may the peace of the Lord be with you, my friend!

    Goodmorning! It's so good to 'see' you, you are the one that is always there and I somehow just relied on that. "there will be new participants, there will be ladies absent and I'll wonder where they went but "BJ" will defenitely be on the list!" And yes, here you are! I am looking for 'free/spare time' to visit some blogposts all through the coming days so by the end of the week I hope to have visit all desks on the list - as an 'old woyww-participant' I just wanted to celebrate this 900th anniversary so badly and it's so lovely to 'bloghop' to all the wednesday-desks again.     Oh BJ you have had a rotten old time of it this summer. At least the weather has calmed down a bit. So sorry to hear about all the destruction going on, it is truly heartbreaking.
