Was doing my 10th page for Faith Fest yesterday and remembered to take photos of my desk, then I couldn't choose which one to share - LOL, so here's the one at the start where I was writing my verse of the day out. I manage a month's worth on the one spread - it makes me smile.
The Faith Fest pages are based on the same verses in Mark 14:3-6 about a woman breaking an alabaster jar and pouring the very expensive oil/perfume over Jesus' head.
For this one we put lots of different acrylic paints in a pot and poured them on the page, certainly very cathartic for me.
Spent a lot of the day searching out images for this page as the presenter didn't include any printables to use. Got into a bit of a pickle with spray inks glad I got my pizza box/spray booth out - phew!
I did the watercolour one both in my journal and my Bible. I had to do it in Matthew 26:6-13. Which describes a similar if not the same anointing.
On Sunday I did the page in the morning and the heart journal in the afternoon. Probably my best day so far. All the stress of previous days had ebbed away thankfully.
Irony of the situation is the troubles we've been having in the house lately. I have a very keen sense of smell and could detect a faint "cabbage smell" which got worse and was probably a dead rodent under the floorboards! Don't ask! I used bicarb of soda pots to absorb the smell and vinegar dishes to combat the smell which got worse!
Then hubby made a curry - yuk - I have to batten down the hatches when he does that. (no I don't eat it either!) I put more vinegar out to descale the draining board - thought let's fight fire with fire!
And with all this the Faith Fest has been on a fragrant oil/perfume! Oh my life.
Anyway I really enjoyed making the heart journal incorporating lots of things which mean a lot to me.
My last 2 pages have been a lot more straight forward .
Learnt a lot about anointing with Hebrew & Greek words which we translate as Messiah and Christ.
A very frozen Wisley back in January.
Need to order some more prints now!
Happy WOYWW Everyone.
I share your antipathy to certain smells as I have a heightened sense too, can’t wear perfumed hand creams etc etc. I hope you find out what the cause of the pong is, sounds like drains to me, or your washing machine? Ours improved after we cleaned it out thoroughly. Good luck!

Your post smells *grin* and I do feel for you... things like that can ruin your day isn't it? You did a lot of creating, wowzah! LOVE the paint coming out of the jar, great page! Happy woyww and hug from Holland! Marit #11
ReplyDeleteOh my, smells! Lemon and Cinnamon work, and some Vanillas but nothing floral for me, or anything like "cotton" or "linen" - they all smell industrial! Your box o' flowers looks yummy, the pages all great, and be sure to check out the freebies at Art House Whimsy and Collage Soup - they both have lots for download :)
ReplyDeleteHappy a-bit-better WOYWW!

Your journal pages are lovely, a great use of mixed media. I hope you find the source of the smell, or it at least stops. We suspected Bella had brought something in yesterday, as she was crouching in attack position, but we didn’t find anything. I love curries but we can’t all like the same thing or the queue would be too long 😀

Great journal pages, you sure get so much done each week. Sorry to hear about the smell, our dishwasher goes down the same drain as the kitchen sink and I find that can cause a smell sometimes and I pour Milton down it which helps. Wishing you a happy woyww, Angela x9x
ReplyDeleteLove your pages. I’m with you about smells…I hope you find what’s causing it.

Beautiful artwork BJ - you really have worked so thoughtfully and created lovely pages I do hope you find the cause of your household smell. I can always smell anything a bit off but hubby is oblivious. x x Jo 🌈
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know that next week's WOYWW will be a celebration of Neet (RIP) so if you wanted to put any pictures you have of her on your blog too that would be lovely. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
ReplyDeleteI can’t bear the smell of vinegar, so have developed other solutions, decaying rodents are especially vile aren’t they! Love a good curry smell though, so that’s where I part company with you! Lovely lovely pages fro faith journalling, I love that you got ina pickle with the sprays, it really doesn’t show, the background is marvellous!
ReplyDeleteI love all the details in that gorgeous heart page you made. I'm sorry about the scent, and hope you've taken care of it. Happy belated WOYWW!
