About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog.I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary, plus any cards as required. As my Carpal Tunnel allows I am getting into yarn/fabric crafts with slow stitching and needle felting added to my list. I continue with my love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus Faith/Art Journaling with acrylics and inks. I completed my challenge to make an art journal page a day for my 60th year in 2024. My list of crafty exploits includes ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Décopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like Walking/Geocaching. I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Evangelical Church.

WOYWW #865 - Happy New Year

Actually remembered to take a photo of my desk(s) this week - horrah.

Certainly a better week with my hand recovery this week. Wound is healing over nicely but still quite sore and I get major random pains. Wrist and fingers still stiff and I get cramp if I try to move them too much. Planning to start the exercises tomorrow on 1st January.

I managed the last Bible watercolour on Christmas Eve in the afternoon.

I was given a metal bookmark with a cross on a chain attached which I love.

As the boys were watching a show on TV I wasn't interested in I did the next Artistic Advent page on Christmas Eve in the evening too.

If you zoom in to the bottom the word STABLE is visible and I didn't even know it was on the papers I used.

My most crafty and certainly extremely appropriate Christmas present was a Book Binding "Cradle".

It's made of bamboo and came with 2 awls - a step up from the home made cardboard one I have been using.

On Sunday I did the next Artistic Advent installment based on the Shepherd's visitation from the angels.

I was rather challenged by the personal testimony part of this one and the technique of cutting away the face of a picture of myself, so I just did the process (although couldn't open my inks as my hand is still too weak after the surgery).

I used an old Christmas card, doodled and flowers, I just wanted to add flowers - go figure!!

We made a tag at the same time too. It was supposedly to give someone for Christmas but I was a bit late for that.

I made my friend an anniversary card. Struggled a bit with sticking and aligning things (obviously don't need to be so precise with the journal pages!!).

Anyway it was a bit lobsided and I forgot to take a photo but as it happens she posted a photo for me. Had to laugh as she took a photo without the top right portion which would have explained the lopsidedness - LOL.

I used bits and bobs I already had about as not wishing to get the heavy Cuttlebug out just yet.

Happy WOYWW New Year to you all.

I'm glad you hand is healing but imagine it's still painful and tricky to do any crafting. I love those little tags. Happy New Year x x Jo 🌈

Loving the cradle. I still use the one I cobbled together from old kid's blocks and some matt board, and while it works well enough, yours looks more compact and at this point I need that! The tags are so pretty too! Heal on and Happy New Year's Eve WOYWW, and wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, joyous 2026!

I’m glad the hand is healing; I know how effective physio exercises are, when I broke my arm the fracture clinic said I only had a small chance of being able to lift it above horizontal, but I had a good physio, did my exercises and can list it up to vertical.
Your shepherds collage, tags and card are beautiful.
Wishing you a happy and healthy new year
Hugs

Happy New Year BJ, I didn’t understand the bit about cutting your face out 😳 great pages though, I am sure your hand must be painful, my daughter had to rub cream in to to keep the scar tissue supple. Hugs Angela #10
