WOYWW #819 - Got My Hand Back

Yes, after a few days incapacitated from the steroid injection I have got my hand back and can play my harp and embroider again. Hope it lasts longer this time as the Carpal Tunnel Release Operation is on the cards next.

I treated myself to some fabric squares last week for the sewing projects in my head.

I did a couple of journal pages the night before the injection.

Life has so many questions....

The answer is LOVE.

I managed some watercolour after the injection as that's not too bad one handed.

Shema - Listen, Hear and Obey.

I'd selected and ordered a year's worth of prints for 2024 and managed to do an 8x8 page for the family album.

I eventually scrapbooked my last birthday page for last year just days before my upcoming birthday this year - phew.

I've made 6 cards too, 3 for my badminton club.

You can see we have a wide range of ages playing.

I made a couple of cards for house group....

... and the required Valentine.

And last night I embroidered the doll for my fabric book. She's been in my head and waiting on my desk for a while but I just couldn't do it pre-injection.

I guess that is me. I need to make good use of my hand this time and really praying for a miracle that it doesn't come back.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

  1. wow, what a prolific week! glad the injection has helped and you can get back to playing the harp and embroidering again. The journal pages particularly are gorgeous, but well done on the cards too and the scrapping! Happy WOYWW Helen #1

  2. Hope the pain does not come back, I know only too well how chronic pain can be.
Maybe the odd day of rest from crafting would help. I know its difficult when your head is full of ideas but sometimes we have to admit the body needs looking after more as we get older.
I love how you have managed to do so much and I hope the harp playing (am impressed) is on the agenda.

  3. That’s a full on week you’ve had! Nice new fabric squares there, I’ll be interested to see how they get used and your little embroidered doll (Russian?) is so very sweet. Hope your hand remains pain free.

  5. It's awful, waiting for a treatment to work. It's been since 1 October for me and I am only now just barely seeing any effect. Ugh. But clearly you have not let it slow you down! So much lovely stuff to look at. The fishy page is cool. And the fabric? Jan will be drooling...
Off for knitting but a Happy WOYWW!

  8. Pleased the injection is working for you as it didn't when I had it. I had numbness for weeks and a short time when it was much better. I have learned to live with it as I don't want that again but I believe the operation works well. Looks like you've been busy and love the results, nice photos too. Wishing you a happy woyww, Angela x11x

  15. Hi HJ
I do hope the injection helps. Don't put the CT surgery off for too long. Bob waited too long to get his done. While he no longer has problems with his right arm going to sleep, his finger tip nerves are shot. Feels like he's picking up a prickly pair cactus and often can't tell if he has a good grip on his fork or not.
    things to keep in mind.
Love the journal pages. I really need to get my watercolors out more.
Yes, the Grand Canyon will definitely be included. Thanks for the reminder!
