WOYWW #712 - Into May 2022 Scrapping

It the vain attempt to make my desk look a bit more interesting I took the shot at arms length as high as I could, and I'm only small.

Next May photos awaiting attention and some harp music printed too small, plus notes on other harp music.

Occupational glasses with the ribbon to distinguish them from my day to day bifocals. I have got downstairs in the occupational ones before now and wondered why I couldn't see properly!

I've added some decoration to the top of my thankfulness jar.

I've done my April 2022 scrapping when I got my first hearing aids, and other new stuff that month too, including my new computer.

I've started on May with a geocaching circuit done over 7 weeks from the middle of March to May day. It went from ankle high mud to bone dry in 5 weeks!

I did my Scripture 52 card for the week too.

Used up some old sprayed papers I had kept.

The reading application is nearly processed now, DBS cleared and referees submitted just waiting for them to show me what to do next.

However we have been trying to upgrade our broadband to full fibre with BT and it's got into a pickle so might have to wait till that is up and running and stable before I dive in and book my school sessions.

Their App doesn't give me the option of booking yet, so still pending anyways.

In the meantime Hubby got us a Janet and John book which we both learnt to read with, I blogged it earlier this week.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Bookmark Reading Volunteer

Nearly a Bookmark Reading Volunteer.

Just waiting on a referee and my DBS check. Already have one of the latter so that ought to be OK.

In the meantime Chris Gregory and I have been reminiscing about our own personal reading beginnings and it would seem we both started on the same books.

The good old Janet and John look and say books.

So Chris Gregory went and bought us a copy of the first one.

Oh my, takes me back some....

WOYWW #711 - Scrapbook Desk!

Desk - last night as journaling on a new LO and remembering to journal on the last ones. One other LO prepped and ready to stick too.

Last Wednesday evening I put together Cambridge - last Easter, visiting son, made whilst on a craft video call with craft mate.

Last Friday I did a journal page for My Little Word -  Presence.

Church did "New Year" calendars so I put my word on there too, and decorated when I got home.

Made Thankfulness Jars at church too, had been meaning to do one, so was well pleased.

Last Saturday I did my Scripture 52 card.

But my best news is being accepted as a Bookmark Reading Volunteer (on condition of DBS and references). I will be doing reading with primary school children online. Can't wait.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #710 - Scripture 52 Project

Hi Guys, not a whole lot of crafting going on this week, in fact desk has become a bit of a dumping ground!

To-do list, RAC paperwork, Geocache notes, CD cases for stamps, Freebie printables and my One Little Word.... from a quiz by DaySpring, mine came out as "Presence"........

I did, however,  get inspired by the Etched By Faith Scripture 52 Project. It's a ring book to be filled with cards each week for the whole of 2023 with a freebie download each month and videos of Jade doing her cards each week.

It's hanging on my bottom shelf!

What you can see in my desk photo is the sum total of my craft space in the corner of my bedroom, and I can't easily access the top shelf either! No matter...

Anyway, got to use some of the handmade lace I was gifted from a craft friend in Spain some years ago, which I'd come across whilst looking for something else and sorting my shelves out in the process.

The jewel butterfly yet another gift - sigh.

On the back of the main card is a collage and a pocket.

In the pocket is a die cut notecard from the "Kraft Crazy" stash I got over the Summer, I'd just cut a few out for my scrapbooking journaling and it was just the ticket.

On this I wrote out the personalised scripture (using I and Me) and pondered it's meaning for me.

On the back is my take away from this time of crafting.

Looking forward to this book growing each week in 2023 and looking back at it this time next year.

One activity taking my time this past week has been setting and finding Geocaches. Having to dodge the rain and go when it's dryish is the order of the day this January.

Hubby and I have published 2 new caches and are awaiting permission to do a third. It all started when we came across a Coal Post which was crying out for a cache placement.

The other thing was brightening up the garden so I popped along to our local garden nursery and got a few plants.

Now that's certainly an improvement, and planted in light rain too! As well as the little window box here, I did 2 hanging baskets and 3 wall boxes, a pot and little front garden corner. Could have done with twice as many plants really - LOL.

Must get back to my scrapping, now I'm in receipt of a job lot of Herma refills for attaching my photographs. The pending pages are at the bottom of the pile of paperwork on my desk still!

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

WOYWW #709 - I forgot the Trees!

Desk has April 2022 photos pending scrapping, as I scrapped February and March last week but forgot to post on my blog.

Also some bike/hubby photos I have rescued to be scrapped!

February saw a great geocaching series of mini bird houses dotted around farmland footpaths, with a few other surprises too. Think I need a "bat" die - of the flying kind. Also my last birthday (with son still home)

March saw son moving to live with friends near his new job. We left him with a camp bed and boxes and he furnished nicely with Ikea

I finished off March with a few poignant moments.

Pancakes, Cleaning, New Kitchen Tap and Rainbow. Finally with our 1000th geocache (a virtual) at Leith Hill Tower on a Beautiful Spring Day.

Mini journal is more or less finished, tied with a ribbon to hold it closed, and my Bible has a few more entries.

Had my crafty friend round last week and she traced her butterfly tattoo for me to journal as I hadn't done anything on that page yet. 2 Corinthians 5:17

I did a Bible Narwhal page about living the life you were created for as we are all unique, Psalms 148:7.

And a mini page of how we are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalms 139:14

I chose Value for my last full Mini Journal page

Not sure where I was going with the "mini" collage and don't have a scripture, but maybe the chandelier on the backing paper made me think of Value.

When all is said and done it is good to know that we are all so precious in the eyes of God.

Then I finished off my Mini Journal back page with some rainbows left over from my scrapping earlier.

The Giraffe should have been where the FAITH edge is (Hebrews 11 - Faith in Action) but I got it wrong. Just the 2nd tracing I did on the WRONG page, not worrying at all about what happens in my Bible now, it is all part of the creative process and we all get things wrong sometimes.

Not sure where the quote is from either but to "Let Your Faith Be Taller Than Your Fears" is a good way to head into 2023.

Other things, adding decoration to one of my CD Flowers Album pages, done whilst scrapping. And the Cardboard globe which I got in a kit and painted with my new watercolour paints (they don't shed at all like my last set, well worth it I must say). Cut and assembled afterwards, it was already scored so folding the curved edges in was fairly easy, love it.

And finally, as I forgot to include my tree makes last week, here they are, plus my angel which has been left see-through.

So a Button tree inspired by LLJ and a fabric tree inspired by WISPO . Both so precious.

Happy New Year
