About Me

My photo
Hi, Welcome to my Blog. I'm an eclectic kind of crafter delving into many pots. I am just about managing to keep up my Scrapbooking Diary (usually about 6 months behind), plus any cards as required. I have a new found love of Watercolour and Bible Journaling plus recently Faith/Art Journaling too. I've challenged myself to make an art journal page a day for this my 60th year. Previously I've also dabbled in ATCs, Tags, Altered Books, Mixed Media, Dรฉcopatch, Knitting, Crochet, and Embroidery amongst other things. I live in Surrey, UK with my husband, our son has left home now. For exercise I usually play Badminton and go Ballroom and Latin Dancing. I also like walking/Geocaching and sometimes do a bit of Bouncing on my Rebounder (mini trampoline). I have been learning to play the harp for the past 10yrs. I am now officially retired. I am a born again Christian, currently worshiping at my local Vineyard Church.

WOYWW #698 - Bible Journaling Conference 2022

Oh my life, 3 days of Pacific Time 4pm to 1am for me:-

19 speakers; 14 single pages; 4 double pages; and a booklet all made.

It was all free if you did it at the time and you were allowed 24hours access to each speaker, I chose to do it in real time.

There were 7 speakers Wednesday, 6 Thursday and 5 Friday. Definitely flagging by Friday.

Just realised I didn't get around to visiting anyone's desk last week, so sorry, I was completely zonked!

Most speakers showed us their technique whilst talking about the Fruit of the Spirit and what it meant to them.

Some gave us printables and no actual technique, otheres just a talk.

I chose to do all my pages in a journal and have only replicated one directly into my Bible.

I'm only doing watercolour in my Bible for now, not sure about sticking stuff on the pages per se, let alone covering any words.

Watercolour and outliner pen don't obscure the words or bleed through the paper, so that's OK. Have tried stencils and distress ink before now, but that does bleed through...

Anyway, most speakers provided downloads of printables so I was busy printing and fussy cutting in the days leading up. No sticker paper nor Cricut for me, just scissors and PVA glue!

We had various techniques; on the black page we wrote on the page what we didn't like in life, and then covered it in black paint before adding the printable items.

We had a couple of Junk Journaling sessions, one with a folded pocket, one with a tag. I was working on the hoof getting out watercolours, distress stains, stencils, acrylic paints, inks, and LEMONS as required.

Stamped with the lemons, that was brilliant and the smell was great too.

There were 2 digital journaling sessions, I couldn't get to grips with that at all, technical issues so really glad they provided download printables too.

All in all it was wonderful and has completely sparked my enthusiasm for crafting again.

Be it watercolours in my Bible, or other stuff in my journal.

Still need to choose my photos for Feb-Sept for the scrapbooking, so I guess that will have to wait some more - Oops.

If you've made it too here I salute you.

Happy WOYWW Everyone.

Oh! wow! what a weekend! Looks absolutely super.
Unfortunately I am one of those folk who wouldn't dream of desecrating a Bible but I am having to learn to at the moment so that I know which verse I have reached in my daily readings . . . a very polite pencilled tick!! lol

I love your pages with Jay. I didn’t really get to watch anything from the conference I had trouble with the password and they sent me links but then the links didn’t work so I sort of gave up in the end, I wish I hadn’t really after looking at yours.

What a luxury to be able to follow the course in real time, adjusting your life to fit, it’s obviously been marvellous! Some very cool techniques and stamping ideas on show in your journal, bet it will be inspirational in more ways than one for a very very long time.
